HP 250 G7: what SSD formats are compatible?
SolvedGood evening everyone,
I recently bought this laptop https://microconcept.com/portables/portables-pc/hp-core-i5-1035g1-1-ghz-turbo-3-6-ghz-windows-10-familial-64-bits-8-go-ram-ssd-128-1-to-hdd-ecran-15-6-1920-x-1080-full-hd-graveur-de-dvd-uhd-graphics-wifi-802-11ax-bluetooth-5-0-gigabit-ethernet-technologie-intel-vpr.html
It has two hard drives (1 HDD + 1 SSD) that I would like to replace with two one-terabyte SSDs each.
My concern is about the format of these hard drives. In recent years, hard drive formats have multiplied, and I admit that I am a bit lost.
I haven't turned on the computer yet; everything is still in the box, and I'm worried about buying the hard drives only to find out that their format is incompatible with the computer.
Here are the two drives I plan to buy:

Could you please tell me if these will be compatible in terms of physical format?
Thank you in advance
Have a good evening

That's why I also suggested Speccy, which allows non-experts to easily see what the components of the PC are.

I didn't say that we can't use Speecy. I just said that if we know the characteristics of our PC, it's useless to waste time with SPEECY. However, he provided us with a link to the specifications, and we can see that the motherboard has an M.2 port with a dual NVMe (PCIe 3.0) + SATA interface. So in his case, the best solution is to replace his 128GB M.2 SSD with a larger capacity NVMe M.2 SSD. He wants a 1TB one. We can now find them at very good prices, like the two I suggested in my links above (intervention n°11).

Good evening bazfile,
Thank you very much for your reply; however, I haven't been able to accurately identify my PC on this site, based on the information I have. I went to the HP warranty site to try to get more info from the serial number, but unfortunately, I had no success... I don't know what this product number corresponds to, as there seem to be many series 17...

S/N CND1065HFX.
product number 175S9EA.without success either.

In general, on laptops when there are two hard drives (1 HDD + 1 SSD), one is a 2.5" hard drive or SSD and the other is an M.2 SSD.
To learn more about your PC, use SPECCY.

good evening
while looking on the hp site;
ssd m.2 sata 3
hdd 3.5 inches
so the drives you chose are good:
the link for the specifications

best regards
on a computer if it doesn't fit, we don't force it.
when we don't know, we can't guess. -
"3.5 inch hdd". Obviously, it's a laptop, it can't be a 3.5" HDD, but a 2.5" HDD. Apparently, according to the information provided in the link you shared, this laptop has an M.2 SATA + NVMe (PCIe) port, the best solution would be to replace your current SSD with a higher-capacity M.2 NVMe SSD, at least one with 500GB.
