Hello!

I'm looking for a solution to play online cooperatively with my brother on our favorite game 'Champions Return to Arms' or other PS2 (or PS1) games using a remote emulator.

Since we live several hundred kilometers apart, we want to recreate the joy of playing this cherished game together, on which we really enjoyed playing together.

We have already tried going on Romstation, which allows you to create a cloud gaming server where we can log in and start a game together, but that’s not the solution I’m considering due to several issues:

- paid service

- low graphic quality of the game (impossible to adjust emulator settings in the cloud)

- no possibility to load or save to continue a game locally on each side

I currently use a Macbook Pro M1 with very good performance that allows me to run the PCSX2 emulator with games at maximum quality and no lag, as I also have a fiber connection.

I can also use Parallel Desktop to run a virtual machine (Windows 11).

I tried using the Persec software, which seemed promising, but the controller doesn’t work on his end, making it impossible for him to interact with the game.

So to summarize, I want to find a solution to play together on a PS2 emulator remotely, with the ability to control the emulator and the graphical aspects of the game.

Thank you in advance for your responses!

There are several options for playing online cooperatively with your brother on PS2/PS1 games using a remote emulator. Here are some suggestions:

    1. Parsec: Although you've already tried Parsec, I recommend revisiting this option as Parsec is one of the best tools for playing online co-op games. You can try to solve the controller issue by exploring the configuration options for Parsec and PCSX2.

    2. Steam Remote Play: If you and your brother have Steam accounts, you can use Steam's Remote Play Together feature to play co-op games online. You can add non-Steam games to your Steam library and use Remote Play Together to play those games. You can also control the game's display settings using the settings of the PCSX2 emulator.

    3. Netplay with Dolphin Emulator: If you want to play GameCube or Wii games cooperatively online, you can use netplay with Dolphin Emulator. Dolphin Emulator is an emulator for GameCube and Wii games that supports netplay, allowing you to play games cooperatively online.

    4. LogMeIn Hamachi: Hamachi is a VPN software that allows you to create a virtual private network for online gaming. You can use it to play co-op games online with your brother by creating a private network and using the PCSX2 emulator.

I hope these suggestions help you find a solution to play co-op games online with your brother.
