Apple ID Update

Hello,

A pop-up message appeared on my Mac Book Air running Os Ventura 13.1 (22C65): "Apple ID update. Some services related to your account will only be available once you sign back in." (with a "Continue" button on the right).

- "some services related to your account will only be available once you sign back in": what services are they talking about that I won't be able to use?

Another message warned me this morning of a software update available for my Mac: "MacOs Ventura 13.3.1 will attempt to update tonight and will restart automatically.": are the two messages related?

Thank you for your answers. Have a nice day,

IzA1

    Hello,

The services concerned are everything related to iCloud, such as iCloud Mail (emails with an iCloud address…), SMS or messages using your iCloud address, in short, anything that requires your Apple ID. It is therefore normal that you are logged into your Apple account from your Mac.

As for the second point, there is nothing abnormal; you are being notified that an update for your macOS version is available, and this update will be performed tonight if possible (Internet service, Mac accessible, etc.). The night is proposed because Apple considers that most of the time, Macs are available at night and that this update will be less disruptive at night than during the day, since the Mac is not in use at night. However, you can manually start this update from the Apple menu / System Preferences… / Software Update …

The two messages are not related.

    Best regards
