Lenovo ThinkPad T480 blinking LED startup issue

Hello,

My Lenovo ThinkPad T480 seems to be stuck in sleep mode. When I open it, instead of a quick startup, I get a black screen and the power button light keeps blinking as if the computer is in sleep mode. However, even when I hold it down for 30 seconds or 1 minute and 30 seconds, nothing happens, and the screen remains black while the LED continues to blink. The computer is frozen and cannot either start up or completely turn off. I tried plugging it in (the charging light comes on in orange, as usual), but nothing changes. I removed the battery from the back (it seems that my model was equipped with two batteries), but the light keeps blinking... I tried holding down the power button for 30 seconds again, as I saw in another forum post describing a similar issue, but that didn't work either...

Is it a battery problem? A bug with fast startup? A loose connection in the power button? I was thinking of letting the battery discharge completely, but it has been a week and the light keeps blinking indefinitely...

Thank you in advance for your advice.

Hello, apparently since you've tested what seems most likely, the only thing left is that the processor is dead.

It's amazing, it was working very well until now, I bought it refurbished a month ago... Thank you for your response!

Lol, I'm not going to say that refurbishing is just a selling gimmick; apparently, it's very technical and for each brand you need licenses and spare parts, so there's a virtual world in refurbished products that looks more like a flytrap.

Hello everyone,
"(it seems to me that my model was equipped with two batteries)": What do you mean it seems? I've never seen two battery slots on a laptop.
Try removing your battery and then unplugging it. Tap the On/Off button several times (to discharge the capacitors).
"but the light keeps blinking": that's proof that there's still power or residual power. Hence the importance of discharging everything!

"I bought it refurbished a month ago": that doesn’t change anything, it works or it doesn’t (apart from the fact that the parts aren’t new, that’s all!).

Best regards!
