Hello,

I want to insert JPEG images into other JPEG images.

I can't do it in PAINT or PAINT 3D. Is it possible, and if so, how?

If not, what free and simple software do you recommend for this specific operation?

Thank you for your help.

Hello,

We can certainly do it with Paint. You just need to paste the second image into the first.
I might have misunderstood what you want to do.

Example: the same image pasted into the first one (don't judge the quality!)

Thank you

No, you understood correctly, but I can't do it the way you suggested.

After opening the image with Paint, I only have the "File" and "View" tabs, and none of these tabs offer copy/paste.

Maybe I have a different version of Paint than yours? (Paint 11.2301.22.0)

See you later

I hadn't enabled "receive replies by email" in my previous message...

Here’s a way to proceed:

1) Open the image (image 1) that you want to insert using Paint or Photos. Copy it to the clipboard using the Ctrl C command.

2) In Paint, open the image where you want to make the insertion (image 2). Resize the displayed image if necessary by holding down Ctrl and using the mouse wheel.
Paste image 1 using the Ctrl V command. Immediately resize it to the correct size and position it in the right place.
If you are not satisfied with the result, undo the paste and try again. You can do this as many times as you want, as image 1 remains in memory.

What is well conceived is clearly stated,
And the words to express it come easily.

Hello

That's exactly what I tried to do, but I have no command that allows me to copy Image 1 after I opened it in Paint. (See attached screenshot below). If I press Ctrl C after opening Image 1, nothing gets copied, so nothing is pasted when I press Ctrl V in Image 2.

When the image is displayed, as shown in your screenshot, use the capture tool to select it, then press Ctrl C. (There is no command in the menus).

The image is then stored in the clipboard and can be pasted onto the second image.

OK, it's working better like this!

Thank you very much.

I still want to point out that there are many possibilities with Picasa.

This software has been abandoned by Google and stripped of all its connectivity features.

However, a number of tools remain usable. What you're interested in can be found in Creation > Photo montage.

So if you still have Picasa, give it a try! The possibilities are more interesting and varied than what you can do with Paint.

Picasa can still be downloaded: Here for example.
