Quotes on key but not functioning

Hello, I have a new HP laptop with Windows 11 and a French keyboard (I also tested it with the English keyboard)

I see the quotation marks on the physical keyboard but none of the keys allow me to make these quotation marks.

However, the key right next to it, the ; and : works just fine.

The key that seems not to work shows me 1 quotation mark and above, 2 quotation marks.

I also tried the alt keys 174 and 175, they don't work either.

Can someone help me? :-)

    A photo of the keyboard and/or at least the model of the computer would be a significant asset in order to respond to you.

      A more complete photo would have been useful... and... the model of the PC as well!!

      Anyway, have you tried using a combination of keys with the FN key, which I suppose is located at the bottom left of your keyboard;

    Sorry! I thought just seeing the quotes on the keyboard would be okay.

    It’s rare to see a symbol in 2 places.

    I tried ctrl - alt - fn - shift - English keyboard - French Canadian keyboard - Canadian French keyboard

    This is a LAPTOP-K1JREHTA 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1155G7 @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHz

    I copied the info... no knowledge at all ;-)

      Hello,

      The keyboard is QWERTY, it cannot be French, maybe Canadian French, in which case the Windows language should be chosen accordingly.

      We still can't see very well in your photo, what happens if you type Shift-3 (which is the standard location for quotation marks)?

      On a French keyboard, the ALT174 combination produces the opening quotation marks, but only if entered with the numeric keypad, not with the numbers above the letters, and it seems that on your keyboard the numbers on the numeric keypad are "above" the keys and are therefore obtained through special manipulation (Shift, dedicated function key...?).

      ASCII characters depend on the font used (present in most standard writing fonts) and also on the software (also present in most writing software, Word, Notepad...) but nothing guarantees their use in all software.

        Shift 3 gives me a slash /

        I did Alt 174 with the numeric keypad and I got the left quotation mark, and Alt 175 for the right one.

        So I'm going to stop my research.

        I find it strange to have a keyboard where you see a symbol and can't make it.

        In any case, you will not be able to configure the language/keyboard using FR keyboards that are in AZERTY and that correspond to the keys.

        Either you configure in FR (something) and you have to "learn" where the struck keys are located, or you have to find the QWERTY keyboard that corresponds to the keyboard and deal with it, thus without accents.
