No sound through DisplayPort

Hello,

I haven't been able to get any sound from my computer since yesterday. I have an EVGA RTX 2060 and a Samsung LC24RG50 monitor. The LC24RG50 doesn't have built-in speakers, but it has a jack connection that allows me to plug in headphones. Since yesterday, quite suddenly, the sound has stopped working. When I connect via HDMI, the sound works again, but I have a second screen connected via HDMI, so I can't stay on HDMI (plus I want 144Hz, which is not supported by HDMI). I only have one DisplayPort cable, so I can't test if the cable is broken.

What I've already tried:

- Reinstalling the drivers

- Restarting by unplugging and then replugging the computer.

- Using Microsoft drivers

- Changing all possible options in the sound settings of Windows (11).

Hello,

That means reinstalling the drivers? Did you go into the task manager to find the defective hardware, uninstall the driver, and restart your machine?

If you haven't done this, from my experience, it's the only solution; after that, I won't be able to help you further.
