Hello everyone,
Question: can I put an i5 3470 or higher on my imedia s3840 motherboard? I currently have an i5 23310.

imedia s 3840 is not the reference of a motherboard but the reference of a PC.
Your current processor is a second-generation Intel processor, the processor you wish to install is a third-generation one, so you need to check if your motherboard supports third-generation Intel processors, which I doubt very much, but you never know.

Thank you for your response. Just so you know, it's a Packard Bell model with the motherboard stating iMedia S 3840.

I think I found that the motherboard is a MB-U6L07.002-H61 H2.

It seems to be the same socket, so yes, maybe, but personally I wouldn't try it except for fun.
