Regard Telecom not found

Hello,

Yesterday, a Free technician came to install fiber at my home. At that moment, I learned that it was necessary to know where the Telecom manhole was located. Unfortunately, it seems that we do not have a manhole. After inspecting the plans, only the water manhole (clearly visible on the ground) is indicated.

What should we do? Do we need to dig up our entire garden to find it?

Fiber officially installed! Thank you for all your responses! I just need to set up the Ethernet and we'll be good to go! Thanks again, everyone!

    Hello.

I had this problem, the viewing area was covered by soil and grass, in fact it was right next to the entrance wall on the property line, not on the public road but on my land.

So maybe look around the wall that separates the sidewalk from my property?

Yes, for me he was on my property at the entrance gate on the property line, the Free technician found it very quickly with a tool.

    Hello

In general, the France Télécom connection is located on your property line, about 0.50 to 1 meter behind the fence, not far from the water meter or the electrical network supply box. (if there is a box embedded in the fence wall).

Look along the fence wall on the garage side.

Try to check with your neighbors; there are usually quite a few similarities. (unless it has also been buried there).

We do have a view with the water meter, we try to see around, because that’s how it’s done for our neighbors.

After digging all around the water eye, nothing...

What can I do to find it effectively? I've dug everywhere...

It should be noted that after making a new appointment, the technician apparently was not competent: he did not try to insert a needle into the garage conduit.

As I told you in my previous message, even though the eye was covered with dirt and grass, the two technicians from Free quickly found it with an appropriate tool; they were very competent, which doesn't seem to be the case for you.

      Hello.

      A screwdriver is relatively short,

we should try with a threaded rod with a diameter of 6mm, it’s relatively sturdy and long enough to dig well into the ground. (and it doesn't cost anything).

What type of cover is obstructing the view at your neighbors'? Polyethylene, concrete, or cast iron cover?

If it's a cast iron cover and not too deep, you should be able to find it with a metal detector.

Don't worry if your provider sends you competent technicians with the right tools (network detector or otherwise) they'll find it. Just so you know, my plate was also made of concrete and they found it quickly and without any issues, just wait for next Friday and you'll see.

But do they not have needles?

I think I'll wait for the second technician to arrive, as suggested by one of the internet users.

After calling the Free center, they stated that the person was not competent and that she should have inserted the needle, which she did not do.

    Hello

They don't bother digging, they spend the whole day looking for connections:

    http://www.agm-tec.com/articles/102-detecteur-de-canalisations-enterree-pour-une-detection-avec-precision.html

Moreover, it is capable of identifying any type of material including cast iron, plastic like polyethylene, fiberglass, or concrete.

It's the company that decided that it's the consumer who must indicate the location.

Since the travel fee often brings in more than the connection... it's modern economy and you're the one doing the work.

As long as the fiber is present, they charge for the fiber packages.

In my building, all the recent Free subscribers on tempting offers, in all the hallways, and only them, were told that the connection had been cut due to work under the entire parking lot and that everything had to be dug up again at the expense of the co-ownership. They did make a request for the work, it took a while, but strangely we've never dug another hole and it's no longer mentioned.

Let's not jump to conclusions, no one has dared to admit how it's been working since then.

But are they equipped with this type of device?

Well, here's an update on the progress: they found the well by pushing a needle in and listening for the noise it made on the ground

It is apparently very deep, and they are currently digging to locate it

I hope they will have time to set it up

They found the box, opened it, and are finally installing the fiber.

I am not at home but apparently extremely deep

In any case, they have dug everything up, and that's remarkable
