Bonjour,

La Freebox Player de ma voisine n'affiche plus le voyant rouge ou bleu.

La télécommande ne réagit pas.

J'ai changé les piles, bien que la télécommande soit neuve, achetée il y a 1 mois.

On ne voit que l'interface/'image de la TV Freebox, mais on ne peut rien faire.

J'ai redémarré plusieurs fois le server et le player Freebox.

Même inversé les Freeplug sans succès.

Welcome to 2023.

Public holiday, I don't think the Free helpers are working :*-))

But in the meantime, I found something quite randomly.

I took my grandmother's old hairdryer (pre-1970) and blew hot air into the player vents.

The light came back.

But the remote control still didn't work.

And then I had a brilliant idea.

On my neighbor's smartphone (82 years old), I went on the Play Store.

And since I have the app on my Oppo, I installed it in 1 minute --► FreeTelec Remote Freebox

It was spinning in vain, as the app didn't detect/find the Freebox (Try again...)

I unplugged the two power cables from the freeplugs.

Then plugged them back in 30 seconds later.

This time, the remote app on the smartphone found the Freebox (I don't know if it found the server or the player, but it found it nonetheless)

Finally, it found the network, the connection.

You still have to give quite a few permissions to the FREE remote app (it's annoying).

Here is where it was stuck, the remote was not responding (inactive) and there was no blue or red light on a Freebox Revolution V6.

Only the player interface was visible: (it's the image of my Freebox V6, but the neighbor has the same image, I set her the same thing to decorate the interface that was quite bland).

Then from her smartphone, I launched the FreeTelec Remote Freebox app.

The directional buttons that I tried first were operational (the others too).

From that moment on, I tried the remote from the Freebox V6, and to our great surprise, it worked!!!

From the remote app on her smartphone (fearing a potential bug, I didn't do it directly from the V6 player), I initiated a reboot (there is indeed an option to restart the TV player) to check if there is a Freebox player update.

No player update.

PS:

-1- It worked yesterday too, it's incomprehensible!!! (a cold snap; it shouldn't be taken lightly… Proof that even an old hairdryer can reignite the flame, well the V6 player... Vents… Go figure!!!!....).

-2- New remote (batteries included).

The neighbor still has OQEE by Free on her smartphone (I installed it for her) but that's not what she wanted

In the meantime, she was still able to watch on her small TV in her room with My Canal from Free (I also installed it for her, but you need a device, like a decoder that you can find in some stores for about 60 euros; it works great, but it's a bit complicated to set up due to FREE identifiers (I helped her with that)

For me, the player is struggling; the best thing to do will be to contact Free for an exchange.

I have or I had considered this idea of course.

On a public holiday, I still asked the question on CCM to make progress (in my démarches)

Nevertheless, I am going to contact FREE Proxy (eligible in our Nouvelle Aquitaine region, no other options (it directs you to support if you call (I prefer that, the answers are immediate, the helpers are nice - like you) but you have to insist politely)) from the assistance of my Pc (my neighbor lent me her laptop, so it's not possible).

I am going to recount this same misadventure (because this remote control bug or the blocking on the interface can repeat itself, (to remind you, the 2 freeplugs were green (green light on the freeplug)..hence the question on the forum....

I noted the Mac and serial numbers just in case. (Mine too, but that was already done)

Mac, FREE always asks for it, server or player, and since it's in very small - the numbers) I did it from the FREE Connect app on her smartphone.

Nice anyway --► FREE Connect

PS :

I have a brand new Free cable (including power supply) just in case, but if it's the Freeplug, I can't do anything (exchange to be requested and that's not guaranteed!! )*


To be continued (I'll keep you updated)...

And I'll keep my neighbor updated if there's a recurrence.

Hello,

Following (and ending) the story with my neighbor's Freebox player.

A player exchange is in progress.

I contacted Free Proxi (and not Free Proxy in message 4 where I made a mistake).

With Free, they created a file.

All I had to do was call Free from my neighbor's home.


With my neighbor, we noted the MAC and serial numbers of the player.

Only the 6 last digits of the serial number are required.


With FREE, we chose a pickup point (2 minutes away).

FREE said we could put the player in a shoebox, but I highly doubt it given the size, unless it was a box for fins :-)

So, we just need to pick up the package upon receiving the SMS and set up the V6 player again.

Have a nice end of the day.

Hello,

The Freebox package arrived today at 11:30 AM. (SMS for the neighbor and email for me)

The pickup point scanned the QR code and requested electronic signature.

I reconnected everything at 11:50 AM.

I paired the Freebox remote as requested after the player completed the updates (firmware).

I will check later regarding the tone issue.
