Graphics card not detected by display (GEFORCE RTX 2060)

Hello everyone

I’m currently facing one, or possibly two cascading problems, let me explain.

I just bought a new graphics card (GeForce RTX 2060) and I tried to install it. It powers on correctly, but no monitor detects it (I tested with 3 different monitors, via DVI and on both HDMI ports of the card).

From researching, I saw that this probably comes from the fact that I haven’t installed the drivers for the card yet. To do this, I suppose I need to use my motherboard’s integrated graphics (with the new graphics card plugged in). But unfortunately, my screens don’t detect it either (via HDMI and VGA). I went into the BIOS to enable it, but it changes nothing and it isn’t visible in the control panel.

I’m not at all an expert in hardware/configuration and I’ll admit I’m getting a bit lost.

Here are the various infos:
- Motherboard: H310M PRO-M2 PLUS (MS-7C08) according to the info I could find in the manual, in the BIOS, and since it has HDMI and VGA ports, I conclude there is indeed integrated graphics
- Old graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 710 (which works with all monitors, whether via VGA or HDMI)

My questions are therefore:
1) Is my method correct for installing the new graphics card (namely: installing the drivers using temporarily the integrated graphics to perform the manipulations)
2) If yes, how to use my integrated graphics (knowing that in the BIOS it is indeed active. I could send a screenshot if needed)

Thanks

    Hello,

Have you plugged in the power cable of the graphics card? The 710 doesn't require it, but the 2060 does.

Edit: to answer your questions, you must have the monitor plugged into the graphics card to use it; it is impossible to go through the iGPU and motherboard headers, this only becomes possible on a laptop.
