Silvercrest VCR-5100 VCR: Sound but No Picture

Hello, I bought a second-hand Silvercrest VCR-5100 video recorder. My TV is an Android Hisense with no SCART socket. So I connected the VCR via an HDMI to SCART converter. The VCR seems to be working perfectly, especially with the remote: play/rewind/stop/eject... On the TV, it indicates no signal but I can hear the sound of the VHS with no image! Help

Thank you for your help because this is the second VCR that does this to me.

    Hello, the magneto provides the signal through a Scart socket...

    So what you need is a Scart to HDMI converter, not an HDMI to Scart.

    What is your HDMI 2 Scart?

    It’s very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
    Especially when it’s not there...

      Hello, Sorry for my ignorance as I did use a Mini AV2HDMI converter. I connect it to the VCR via the red/white (audio) and yellow (video) plugs connected to a RCA adapter (?) and I link it to the TV via an HDMI cable. Is this the correct way to proceed? I'm not even sure about the terms I'm using.

    OK it's not, as written in the initial message, an HDMI 2scart but an AV2HDMI.

    The wiring is fine.

    However, questions:

    Does this converter support the SECAM image format (the format of old recordings)?

    Is the USB power supply via a socket on the television powerful enough?

    It's very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room.
    Especially when it's not there...

    Hello Baladur, For your two questions, I can only express my ignorance. However, I eventually caught a glimpse of some fleeting images. This morning, when I started playback, a "Mr. Doctor" appeared: it particularly indicated the status of the playback heads for which it suggests a cleaning. I still need to find a cleaning VHS for the playback heads.

      If there is an issue with the power provided by the TV's USB, try using a phone charger.

        The converter is indeed powered by a portable Samsung charger.

        Otherwise, I'm afraid I don't understand when you talk about "the power supplied by the TV's USB"... I haven't connected anything to the TV's USB except for the HDMI cable between the TV and the converter.

        You could have connected your converter directly to a USB port on the television.

        These ports are often limited in current (500mA) and can sometimes cause problems if used by devices that are too power-hungry. Hence my question.

    Hello, I cleaned the heads with 90% vol. modified alcohol.

    However, do you have a SCART to HDMI converter to recommend because I think mine has given up the ghost? Thank you and enjoy the New Year's Eve.
