No image or sound with Dazzle DVC 100

Hello,
I am using the DAZZLE DVC 100 to capture VHF tapes and transfer them to DVD; I have connected a split SCART cable from my VCR to the DAZZLE box (with 2 audio cables and 1 yellow video cable) and then connected it via USB to my PC, but I have no image or sound. The recording process goes well, but it results in a black screen...
Can someone help me???
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

This is what allows Dazzle to work with your PC, but for XP, there's no need to go online. When the Dazzle is plugged in, you need to find it in the Device Manager and update the driver.

And how do I update this driver? Thank you.

When the Dazzle is connected, go to Control Panel/System/Device Manager/Image Device/Dazzle, right-click on Properties, and update the driver.

In the image device, I don't have the Dazzle declared. I only have my camera. I changed the USB port without success. I think the problem comes from there.

Same hassle: impossible to get sound or image with this junk... at best, when I set it to the "SECAM" parameter, I get a vague mess of blurry red and black flashes across the screen all the time... Has any of you found a solution?

Same for me, no capture with a message, check the cables, no output detected...
I wonder if there was a Vista update that caused everything to fail because last week everything worked correctly... I’ve had the Dazzle 170 for over 6 months and I’ve been using it with Studio 11, until now... I haven’t changed the settings, I don’t understand, it happened overnight, I also downloaded the update from the Pinnacle website... uninstalled and reinstalled Studio 11, with no result, it still doesn't capture!!!
HELP, is there a kind soul available to help us with our problem....

Logically, you have the Pinnacle Studio software? Configuration / capture sources / scroll down the list and choose the Dazzle.

It doesn't work with Studio either. However, I got the message saying that I need to download a driver from the web....

Ah, possible, otherwise you look at the USB devices.

Is it installed at least? :-)

Yes, I have installed it correctly. I have Dazzle in the audio, video, and game controllers section. Updating the drivers does not change anything.

Make a choice between PAL and SECAM, and is the VCR connected to the correct SCART?

Everything is well connected, I will call Pinnacle support tomorrow because I don't see a solution. Thank you for your help.

Hi, I just got the Dazzle DVC 100 and I'm having the same problem as you.
Did you find a solution to the problem? If so, could you please share it with me? That would be nice.
        Thank you in advance.

Hello guys, I bought the Dazzle DVC 100 with VHS saver, same problem, no Dazzle source, it doesn't see it. So I tried a lot of things (with my desktop) and the solution for me was to do it with my laptop which worked right away. I think the problem is the USB device drivers, I looked for updates but nothing worked with my desktop which is still recent and reliable.
I hope I helped you even if not everyone has a second PC.

Hello everyone. Same problem with Windows XP. Nothing happens when I connect the VCR, except for an error message indicating to install a USB2.2 (high speed) controller in my PC. I will try this week. I'll keep you updated.

As promised, I’m keeping you updated. With Windows XP 2002, my USB 1.1 controllers are low-speed.
I installed a PCI card with 5 USB 2.0 ports (high-speed). Now I have my VHS movie on the screen and I can burn. Just one tiny problem I'm trying to solve: a few glitches in the image, but the sound is perfect.

    Hello everyone,

    I bought the Dazzle DVC 100, and I have a camcorder with an 8 mm VHS cassette. I want to burn my tapes to CDR or DVDR;
I have made the connection, that is to say the Dazzle is connected via USB to my PC, then
the camcorder, which has 2 RCA outputs, yellow and red, that I connected to the Dazzle DVC 100.
When I launch DVD Recorder, the software provided with it, I have no image.
Should I download an update, or is there another program for analog since my camcorder is an 8 mm VHS????????

Thank you all, have a nice day

P.S.: my drivers are all correctly installed, the Dazzle is recognized well, I have XP SP2, and my USB ports are USB 2.0.

      Hello everyone
I also have a Dazzle DVC100 and I had quite a few problems capturing my VHS tapes and editing them, so I'm taking advantage of this forum to explain how I solved everything using completely free French programs
N.B. If you use a SCART connector, it must have a power button
First, I uninstalled the software provided by Pinnacle
Then I downloaded the "K-Lite Codec Pack 5.7.1 (full)"
I capture my VHS file using "Windows Movie Maker," which gives me a .wmv file with excellent sound and image quality
In order to edit the .wmv files, I first need to convert them to .avi using "Free Video Converter"
Then you can easily trim them with "Virtual Dub Mod"
I hope this can help someone
      Have a great day everyone
