Microphone issues cutting out in certain games
Benjamin27 -
Hello everyone,
This is my first question here because generally I find solutions to my problems on this forum, but this time it's impossible..
So, to keep it short: my microphone doesn't work when I play certain games. Indeed, it works perfectly when I'm on Discord, when I play LOL, CS GO, Valorant, etc., BUT when I play games like Ready or Not, Warzone, Choo-Choo Charles, etc., my microphone doesn't work on Discord, the sound is crackling like crazy, the same on OBS..
I tried talking to my friends through TS, but the problem is the same. I have set my microphone as default, disabled the priorities, etc., as shown in several tutorials, but nothing works, my issue isn't resolving.
The only solution I have is to use my headset's microphone in such situations (because there's no issue when I use it) but the quality of that one is really not great since it's a Bluetooth headset. I already tried disabling it in the sound settings to see if it wasn't because it was taking over my microphone, but that didn't change anything.
My components:
Microphone - Blue Yeti X
Headset - Astro A50 4th Generation
Processor - i5 11600k
- Headphones => Sound cuts out when volume is low
- Microphone not recognized issue on MSI PC running Windows 10
- Sound/microphone issues in games
- Microphone issue on Discord (Plantronics RIG 400 headset)
- Micro cutting out after a few minutes on Discord
- My League of Legends sound cuts off when I connect to Discord.

Hello,
Thank you for your response, but I believe I wasn't very clear in my message. The microphone of the headset has average sound quality because it's a Bluetooth headset, but that's not the issue, since I hardly use it. The problem comes from my Blue Yeti X microphone, which sometimes starts to bug out suddenly when I play certain games. When I exit the game, either by quitting or simply pressing ALT + TAB, the microphone works normally as long as I'm not in the game...
Last night, I "discovered" something strange: in the game "Blairwitch," my microphone worked perfectly, and once I set the FPS to unlimited for better visual rendering, the microphone suddenly started to bug. I tested it by setting it back to 60 FPS max (as it originally was), and the microphone worked perfectly again... I'm going to try to see this with my other games, but it would be annoying to have to cap my FPS at 60.. However, it can't be a component issue; they are all new, I have 32GB of RAM, etc., so I don't understand where the problem could come from..
If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears,
Thank you, have a nice day!
