Rocket League PC interface not suited for connected controller

Hello, I managed to connect my Switch controller to my PC via Steam, and when I launch Rocket League, my controller is recognized but the game interface (the home menu) is not the one adapted for controllers. I can't navigate normally in the game and sometimes combinations of buttons on the controller cause it to exit full screen.
Do you have a solution to get the controller interface instead of the keyboard one?
Thank you!

Hello,
I don't have Rocket League, so maybe we should check the game settings for input or if it offers
the controller.
Be careful on Windows 10, I have this problem when I launch a game, and when I plug in my Xbox One controller afterward, it's not recognized in-game. I have to plug in my controller before launching the game and then it works fine in-game.
However, you made a mistake: in your information, you were able to connect your Switch controller via Steam and launch the game, but Rocket League is on Epic Games and not Steam. When you plug in a controller, it's Windows that first recognizes your controller and configures it; normally you receive a notification when you plug in a controller.
So you set up your controller on Steam, and when you play Rocket League, which is on Epic Games, it doesn't fully recognize your controller. You need to connect and set up your controller via Windows, and that should work fine in my opinion.
I found this tutorial that is quite simple and should help you.

Thank you for your response
I had looked at tutorials for connecting my controller and having it recognized by my PC, and the tutorials often suggested going through Steam and then launching the Epic Games Launcher via Steam and then starting Rocket League. When I do that, it works more or less because I can use my controller on Rocket League, but the game menu is not the one suited for a controller like you would have on a console. So I have to use the mouse, and on top of that, there’s a controller button combination that makes me exit full screen or toggle it back.
When I watch streamers on Twitch who play Rocket League on PC with a controller, they have a game interface similar to that of a console and therefore suited for a controller.
Yes, but sometimes it doesn't work for everyone for unknown reasons.
I had Windows issues, I followed all the tutorials and nothing worked for me, I had to completely reinstall Windows and that solved my problem.
First, try the tutorial I found for you to see if it works by setting up your controller with Windows and not with Steam.
On Epic Games, check the integrity of the game files to see if you have any corrupted or damaged files, sometimes that happens.
If that's the case, it will repair them.
The tutorial you gave me doesn't work for me because I don't have Bluetooth on my desktop. So I can only connect my controller via cable.
Then I'm wondering if I need to download a file to set up the interface of a console?
Oh, okay, normally it should work with a cable. I've already tested it with an Xbox One and PS4 controller, no problems on some games, but I don't know about the Switch controller.
At one point, I played Rocket League and the interface only partially worked with the controller, I think I had to use my mouse, but that was a while ago.
I don't think so, for a file it would surprise me, I've never heard of it anyway.
Otherwise, try clearing your temporary files in Windows, attempt to uninstall RL and reinstall it to see, you never know.
Well, I reinstalled Rocket League and it still doesn't work. I still have the PC interface and not the one for a controller. I think maybe the explanation is the Switch Pro controller and that you need an Xbox or PS4 controller for it to work. After that, I don't know if it's possible to have the correct interface with the Switch controller.
On the other hand, you say that when you were playing with the controller, you had to use the keyboard, and in the end, it's more or less what I have too. The controller works, we can theoretically play, but we have to use the mouse to navigate the menu. Honestly, if it was just that, it would be okay. But on top of that, some button combinations on the controller make it exit full screen, which lags the game and makes it unplayable.
I don't know if that's what you had too. What’s certain is that the people I see playing on PC with a controller don’t have that issue.
It annoys me not to understand and not to find the solution.
Yes, really weird, this issue might be your Switch controller but I still doubt it, who knows.
I tested it, but it's been a long time since I last played Rocket League, try if you can with
a Xbox or PS4 controller. Maybe in the meantime, Rocket League has had updates to optimize the game
for controllers and that the interface works with controllers, check the game settings to see if there are
any adjustments to make.
Yes, I understand your frustration, you have to keep searching.
I found this tutorial for the Switch or Pro controller:
use a controller pad on the entire Epic Game Store thanks to Steam Rocket League RL
