Message sent via Messenger.
SolvedNicolas -
Hello,
I am reaching out to ask for help because I'm having an issue with my Messenger app.
Here is my problem: I don't use Messenger; I have Facebook, but when someone sends me a message on Messenger, it shows that it’s delivered even though I don’t have the app. It should only say sent and not delivered.
How is this possible because it creates a serious problem????
I thank you in advance for your help and for the time taken to respond to me,
thank you

The distribution is systematic since using Facebook implies that the Messenger account is active, as they are linked.
However, the emergence of Apps has led to Facebook and Messenger requiring 2 distinct Apps, whereas the Facebook website originally included both.
Moreover, you should have a symbol in the Facebook App indicating that you have messages without being able to view them directly...

Hello
You can access Messenger through the web version of Facebook... (from a PC or a Mac)
If you only have a mobile, installing the app is mandatory to see the messages.
Whether you have installed the app or not does not affect the status of the messages.
;)
Thank you Radinoz for your reply
but I don't use it on my Mac either.
My real problem is that the message status should remain "sent" and not "delivered," which means that I have the app. But I don’t have it, so I can’t understand why the status changes as if I were using it.
Thanks if you can add to your reply ????
Hello
Messenger is part of Facebook, whether you use a Messenger app or not.
In fact, if you open Facebook in a web browser (at https://fr-fr.facebook.com/), you will find access to Facebook messaging (that is, Messenger) directly.
You can also open https://www.messenger.com/ in a browser with your Facebook ID and password to access just the Messenger part outside of Facebook, without installing an app...
See you later.
Thank you for your response Super Mario
So if I understand correctly, just using Facebook would change the status of the message?
Because for me, since I don't have and don't use Messenger. Why does the status change from "sent," which should remain like that, to "delivered," which means that I am using the app when I am not at all.
Thank you for your additional response ????
Hello
Whether you use it or not, Messenger IS in Facebook.
The message status does not change the status (READ/UNREAD) of the message if you haven’t explicitly opened it.
Delivered does not mean READ, it just means delivered (the address does exist) = placed in your inbox, it’s up to you to read it or not...

Super Mario, thank you for this supplement.
I need to be able to explain how the status of this message changes from sent = address exists, that's fine because that’s part of Facebook, to delivered. After that, it's up to me to read it and the status will change to "read" and the icon as well. The core of my issue is that sent = sent to the recipient, delivered = app has been opened, read = read.
For me, I'm sorry to insist ????, I don’t understand why it changes from sent to delivered without even using the Messenger app.
If I’m trying to understand, it’s also because I need to explain it, and I’m trying to figure it out as well.
In any case, a big thank you for your help already.

So for you, it goes from
sent to delivered just because I use Facebook?
And without even having the app????
well, read only if I happened to open it.
really, thank you,
Well, yes... Technically Facebook/Messenger is the same thing ;-)
Thank you Super Mario
