Modern Warfare 2: issue launching the game

Hello, I'm here because I'm out of ideas. I bought the latest Call of Duty on my PS4 and I clicked to install all the packs directly. When I launched the game for the first time, it showed an "installation" bar and another pack (or one that was already downloaded) started downloading, the "multiplayer pack," which is about 7GB. It's downloading, I launch the game, and bam, it brings up the installation bar again, and the same game pack downloads again. Alright, I wait, I do it again, the same thing happens, and bam, it installs the pack three times. So, I go into my game library, I go to Modern Warfare 2, and I look for any additional packs to download just in case. The same multiplayer pack that wasn’t installed (already installed three times). I redownload it, and once it's installed, I turn off my console. I turn it back on a bit later, and the pack is indeed installed; it was 5 minutes ago. I launch the game, and here we go again. I don't know what to do. I completely uninstalled everything, and I'm reinstalling everything starting with the pack before the game. Do you have any ideas on why this is happening and how to fix it? I'm desperate; this bug is getting really expensive.

There's a huge crowd in this case, myself included on PC. It should be fixed by tonight; let's hope for that.

Good evening, same here since October!!! We bought the game, played it 5-6 times and bam, we have this bug since then! I bought the PS4 with the game on purpose in October... And let's not talk about the Playstation+ subscription that we’re paying for nothing! Anyway, if anyone has the solution please, we’re really desperate! Thanks in advance to our future savior (I hope!)

Hello, I am also having the same issue since the last update of Call of Duty MW2 1.20. I can’t play multiplayer while I was previously able to play this game mode without any problems. The game tells me that the files are not installed, yet I have reinstalled it about ten times and nothing works. I have tried everything: uninstalling the game, removing it from the console, reinstalling it, but nothing is working. Do you have any solutions to address this problem?

I may have the solution, even if it's annoying for people who have ADSL like me, but if your multiplayer pack is stuck on installation, you need to --- press options on the game in the PlayStation menu (manage in-game content), and delete the multiplayer pack or the pack you want, then reinstall it; that should work for a few days and then restart if it continues.

For those like me who have had the issue of installing the multiplayer pack on Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on PS4. If you've done everything possible and imaginable like unplugging, replugging, deleting everything, etc., know that I searched enough to see that my multiplayer pack was downloaded every time on Call of Duty Vanguard. Wrong access path or download bug. I currently find myself deleting the entire storage of Call of Duty Vanguard in order to download Call of Duty Modern Warfare in its entirety. At this point, I haven't launched the game yet, but since the old access path leading to Vanguard no longer exists, I hope the multiplayer pack will have the correct access path this time. Hoping that this is a path issue for everyone.

I have also been experiencing the same issue for over a week. Since the last update on February 13th... I have tried everything but nothing works. I find it outrageous ???? I submitted a ticket to Activision and I hope to get a response to this problem and especially that it gets resolved.

I have the same problem. I have been in contact with Activision since February 24, and they seem unable to fix this bug. Are there any people who have managed to solve this damn problem?

For me personally, it's stored on an external drive. Doesn't it come from there?

Hello, I have the problem as well..
For several weeks, I've been on PS4
Since I wanted to make the most of my game that cost €80, I used the PS5 upgrade code on a friend's PS5.
And thinking about it...
Have you tried installing the upgrade updates? Even while staying on PS4, each pack will be installed at the same time.
I admit I haven't tried, and I don't know if the upgrade is available unlimited through the PS Store library. (since the code is a voucher)
I suppose we have the common point of playing the cross-gen bundle PS4/PS5 version
Because I also cleared the cache, renewed the licenses, uninstalled and reinstalled the updates, then the game. Deleted the saves, did a quick reset, and also completely reset my PS4 with no success.
I had to redownload the 190GB of the game at least 6 times, at each step, and maybe 30 times the multiplayer pack that still isn't installed
But I just realized I used the code with my friend's PSN so I don't have it in my personal store... Oops
