Display dashed line

Hello,

I have an Excel document that has one page, but when I try to print it, I see that the document has three pages, and the third one is blank (I don't know why there's a third page). When I go back to modify it, I don't see the dotted lines indicating where the second page starts. How can I display it? I have Excel 2016.

Thank you for your help.

    Hello,

If I remember correctly, in the "newer" versions of Excel, these layout limits only appear after print preview (and going back), which is now obtained not in isolation as in the past but by simulating the printing.

However, if there are page breaks and you want to see them, you need to check it in the options (Advanced options, display of the worksheet).

    Thank you,

when I go to View and click on Show Page Breaks and then click on Normal, I can see the dotted lines.

But how do I remove the last page, which is blank and serves absolutely no purpose?

If an extra page appears, it's because one of the layout elements (margins, footer, paper size, cell height, possibly due to a font..., or possibly a border element) leads to that, or because we didn't pay attention to leaving a non-empty line that's difficult to perceive (a border or character in a cell that should be empty...).

In this latter case, it's usually sufficient to select a few dozen lines at the bottom and delete them.

Depending on the type of layout, it could in fact be a redundant element at the bottom or on the right that will be less visible.

The method I thought would work to see the dashed lines doesn't work; I tried it on another document and it doesn't work.

The one I mentioned works (at least for me, Excel 2019 doesn't change much in the matter) and, in any case, the print preview clearly shows between which lines (at least if they are not blank) the break is placed.

I have to go through my printer to get a print preview, I can't find it anywhere in Excel,

when I click on File, the options I see are

    Information

    New

    Open

    Save

    Save As

    Print

    Share

    Export

    Publish

    Close

    Account

    Options

when I click on print, there is no print preview

    I just found it!!!!!!!

You need to go to View and uncheck Quadrilateral

      So much the better then.

I don't have a quadrilateral but a grid (and for me, it must be checked if I want to see the lines, but with no other consequence).

    Hello Dela1956

Try starting over by canceling the print area

    Print area

    Cancel print area

    Select the area to print

    Print area set

    Does this change your problem?

    Hello

On the empty lines at the bottom of your document, put numbers from 1 to 9 for example

Then check the layout and see where the page ends

Then go back to the document and delete the lines that are on the extra page and remove

    the numbers you added

    Hello dela1956

On a blank sheet, click in a cell, for example H50

    Insert a page break

    Delete the page break

    The dotted lines appear

It works, I tried it on a blank page as you said, but on my existing pages?
