Epic Games account hacked (Password and Email changed)

Hello, As mentioned in the title, my Epic Games account has been hacked. The guy changed the password and the email address. I decided to contact Epic Games by email to report my issue (3 times), but they replied, "This request was closed and merged into request #21508547." Since then, no news. Please, do you have a solution? I have invested a lot of money in my account, and I don't want to lose it.

PS: This may be useless information, but the guy who took over my account is Russian. He added some "friends" on my Fortnite account, and to my surprise, he put money into the game (he bought the battle pass). I managed to get some of his information because somehow, I had access to my Fortnite PS5 account for about 2 minutes before getting disconnected right after.

Same here, my son just got his account hacked and through my email as well, so they've also hacked my inbox, I'm disgusted.

Epic Games is asking me for all this, here is their email.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting our support team.

We understand very well that your son's account has been hacked and you would like to recover it by changing the email address below.

Our team will be happy to change the email address of your choice; however, we have constraints that prevent us from making modifications to our players' accounts.

The only way to circumvent this is to provide us with the following information:

  1. Your public IP address (IPv4).
    • You can find it by typing "What is my IP address" in your internet browser (Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.).
    • Note that you must disable any VPNs and web acceleration services before searching for your IP address.
    • If you are using multiple connections or devices, please include all their IP addresses.
  2. The original username of your Epic account.
  3. The names of all PlayStation, Switch, Twitch, Xbox, or any other external accounts that were previously and are currently linked to your Epic Games account.
  4. The locations (city and country) from which you made purchases on the account.
  5. The last 4 digits of the first payment card used on the Epic account.
  6. The invoice reference or transaction number for your Epic Games purchase or mobile/console receipts for in-game purchases.
Note: this may include free games obtained from the EGS.
    • The invoice reference is found at the top of your Epic Games receipt and starts with the letter "A, F, S", followed by 8 or 9 digits. Example: A12345678.
    • The transaction number is on your email receipt from Xsolla.
  7. A screenshot of the oldest receipt in your possession for this Epic Games account.
Note: this may include free games obtained from the EGS. It can also be a screenshot of the receipt for your oldest in-game purchase from your console/mobile. If you have trouble finding your console receipt, please check the relevant link:

    • Nintendo - How to view your Nintendo eShop history
    • iOS - How to view your transaction history

We are counting on you.

Sincerely,
Ashen Grace.

Thank you for this quick response, but unfortunately I have already contacted them as I mentioned, and I have only received automated replies.

I also wanted to add that the first time I contacted them, they responded:

"Confirm account recovery

Hello (the username the guy provided),

We have received a request to recover the following Epic account due to unauthorized activity:

Epic Username: (the username the guy provided)
Google: (My account)
PlayStation Network: (My account)
Twitch: (My account)
Ubisoft: (My account)

For security reasons, you must verify your account before we can respond to your request.

Click the button below to authorize account recovery.

APPROVE ACCOUNT RECOVERY

......."

I then clicked "approve account recovery," and afterwards I received another email where they explain to me that I have been hacked and that I need to contact them again. I didn't know where to contact them again, so I replied to the email and reached out to support. Since then, total silence.

Do you have any idea what steps I should take now if not to perhaps wait for a response?

That's what I wanted to do but let's say I'm bad at English so it's difficult.

Hello, I have the same problem. Do you have any ideas on how I can recover my account? I have already sent plenty of emails to Epic Games, but they keep responding with a serial number. Thank you.

Hello, it's now been about 2 months since I managed to recover it and I have no more problems now :).

If you're curious, I sent dozens of emails over 4-5 days, and in the end, I received a response one evening to the first one I had sent, even though it had been closed ("This request was closed and merged into request").

I hope you will be able to regain access to your account, feel free to ask me any questions if you need to on this forum or if you'd prefer in private on a social network.

Okay, well thanks, I'll listen to you. If there's a problem, I'll come to see you. I just have one question: how long do they usually take to respond?

Every email I've sent has received a response in less than a day. But don't forget that we're in holiday season, so Epic Games is receiving double the requests per day, which will definitely take longer. I've heard that some people have waited several months, but in that case, I advise you to send a follow-up email instead.

Also, don't forget to provide as many details as you can, even if the person asks you several times during the conversation. It's essential that you provide the last purchase you've made if I'm not mistaken (it's an order code to provide), and if when you created your account you specified where you lived, then mention it directly because, as I said, for me, the guy was in Russia, so Epic Games will know right away that something is wrong.

Alright, well I'll wait for an answer and that's it. Do you have a social network just in case?

Hi, I told you that I had already written all the details earlier in the discussion.

If you want, I can give you a social media account, but I would just be repeating what I've already written; I have nothing else to add except to be very patient and keep sending emails until they respond to you.

Hello,

I have the same issue accessing my Epic Games account. I requested support and received a message in my inbox to confirm the recovery of the account, but this message indicates a username that isn’t mine.

Should I confirm the recovery of the account even though it’s not my username? (I’m afraid of allowing the person with the wrong username to recover my account)

Thanks to those who have faced this problem to confirm that they were able to recover their account even though the username indicated was not theirs;

Hello, so for my part, the person who took over my account changed the username. I found out because one of my friends saw it. So I advise you to first ask a friend to check if your account's username has changed. After that, there might be a risk that the person who stole your account has deleted all your friends, and that's a bit trickier. At that point, honestly except for confirming, I don't know what to tell you.

Hello, I had the same problem just out of curiosity, did they tamper with anything else on your PC? Did you have it formatted? Did they gain access to any of your other data?

Can you provide the email address for Epic Games in case of hacking, please?

I would also like it if possible, I can't send a message on their site since they changed my email and my password, it's so poorly done.

How did you manage to get it back?

Got any updates on your account?

It just started for me but I already can't access my Epic account, so I'm unable to contact them through their site and I don't have the email for this kind of problem.
