VHS playback impossible with SCART to HDMI converter

On a a combo magnet, I can read DVDs just fine, but when I tried to duplicate a VHS onto DVD, the simple playback of the VHS tape didn't work; I could hear the sound, but there was no image, my new TV screen displayed "no signal."
I celebrated too soon after reading a DVD, but I hadn't thought about watching a VHS....
Thank you for helping me solve this problem.

I installed an HDMI to SCART converter purchased from C Discount, recommended by an online user. I connected the HDMI socket from the TV to the converter, the SCART plug from the combo VCR to the SCART end of the converter, and the additional small wire from the converter to a USB stick. The DVD playback works perfectly, both sound and image.
However, regarding VHS playback, there is sound but no image...
Thank you for your help.
converter purchased SCART 1080 P HD - link with andy 31200, on 28.09 at 3:23 PM, in response to my request:
CONNECTING VCR WITH PERITEL TO TV WITH HDMI on 28.09 at 3:17 PM.
it's a recorded tape of family events that I protected with a little piece of tape to duplicate it...
what do you mean by Microvision?
Good evening,
Macrovision is an anti-copy system for VHS tapes when, for example, you had two VCRs, you could not duplicate commercially available VHS tapes endlessly.
In the case of home tapes, there is no blockage and the little piece of tape is unwelcome because it allows you to erase your video tapes.
You should do the opposite, either break the original tab or remove the adhesive tape!!!
You need to provide the Brand and Model of your new TV to identify which source you need to switch to in order to display your converter or your combo.
Hello to those following the topic.
Ok, the reason I put a little piece of tape is that I had broken the original tab for protection, but when I use my DVR 80 KF tape recorder to copy VHS tapes to DVD, I have to make this connection because otherwise the duplication doesn't work. I've already made copies with this device that I bought second-hand, but with an old TV equipped with SCART, and it worked very well.
My new TV is a PHILIPS 550 LED 706/12.
Thank you for your help.

-On page 8, it explains how to select HDMI, USB sources...
-On page 29, the HDMI ports have a (digital) copy protection, which might explain your troubles.
On your old TV, you were connecting directly via SCART (analog), and the tapes and DVDs worked.
That’s no longer the case with your High Definition TV; it’s full of protections.
However, try all the HDMI ports on the TV; maybe one of them is less filtered.
Okay, I will try some other things: thank you for your help.
