Word 365 hyphenation

Hello everyone!
I have been using Word extensively for years and I switched to the 64-bit 365 version on W11 since the beginning of the year: everything was working perfectly... Until yesterday! I started a new document, and I can't activate automatic hyphenation. Did I miss a step???
The currently installed version is Microsoft® Word for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2208 Build 16.0.15601.20148) 64-bit.
Is there a bug or are my neurons playing tricks on me?

Hello,
I am on Office 365 and by following the procedure below, everything is OK:
How to automatically apply hyphenation to a Microsoft Word document.
-
Open the Microsoft Word document you want to modify. Check that no word is hyphenated at the end of a line. Click on the Layout tab.
-
Make sure no text is selected. In the Layout group, click on the Hyphenation drop-down menu.
-
Select Automatic.
-
At the end of certain lines, words have been hyphenated and a hyphen has been added.
Regards.

Thank you for your reply! That's what I've been doing for years: I've been using Word since its first Windows versions in 1990 ... that's a long time ago!!!
But for the past 2 days, it hasn't been working anymore ...
