Hello,

I have the 2010 version of Microsoft Office.

I have hundreds of files on my computer, and I'm looking for a file that contains a specific word in its content.
However, it is not possible to search based on a word within the content. I can only search by file names, but not in the body of text.

Does anyone know how to do this???

Thank you!

Laurence

Hello

It's not related to the Office version but to the Windows version

On XP, it's simple: Start / Search
You have 3 fields: one to indicate the file type and the name if you know it. A second one to provide a word contained in the file. The 3rd one for the disk

On later versions, Vista or Windows 7, it has become quite complicated.
I don't have a mic with these versions on hand to test, but take a look here at Deniscool's response, who took the time to provide a lot of details
