Hello!

I have a download issue; on all platforms (Steam, EpicGames, Xbox, etc.), I'm downloading at around 10MB/s, but as you can see here:

shouldn't I be getting more? I'm using a devolo 1200+ powerline kit (https://www.devolo.fr/dlan-1200-powerline). Does anyone have a solution, or is this normal (I was also getting 10MB/s on my old PC with a different powerline kit)?

Thanks in advance for your responses :D

Hello,

so you shouldn't confuse Mo (Megabyte) (technically Mebibyte for perfectionists) and Mb (Megabit) which have completely different values

1 byte = 8 bits

so 76.88Mb = 9.61Mo which is perfectly coherent

Oh okay, thanks for this quick response, I didn't know that. I'm disappointed with my connection that's supposed to be fiber near a big city, I was hoping there was a problem with my settings haha.

Now I just have to find a better internet provider then lol thanks a lot.

Well, after that, you need to know how much is coming into the box; it should be marked on the box if it has a screen or in the box's web interface. You also need to check what plan you have with the provider and who the provider is.

If you want, you can test by connecting directly via cable to the box.

70Mb for a fiber connection is low; the powerline adapter could indeed be the cause. It's generally not suited for fiber speeds, even if it says 1200Mbit, that won't be the actual speed in real usage, we're far from it.

Just the values you provided were consistent ^^

So I can't try connecting directly with a cable right now, or do I have to move my entire setup to the living room, 20 meters from where I am, lol? So I've tried going on the Bouygues site and I noted this information.

Do you know if it gets the information directly from the box or if it logs what my PC is receiving?

the 1 only does a speed test with your PC

the 2nd says that the box is synced at 1Gbps, although I suppose that's just the plan and the actual speed might be a bit lower (around 900Mbps I assume, depending on the fiber network it can be more or less depending on the time of day)

but yes, you should be getting much more than 70.

Thanks a lot, well I'm going to see if I can find a long 20-meter cable and try not to make something too ugly, I can't drill with the load-bearing walls between my room and the living room, too bad. In any case, thank you very much for your answers :D
