Change the name associated with my Outlook email
Tayu -
Hello,
I would like to change the name that appears when my email address is entered as a recipient. When I was younger, I entered a silly name for my Outlook account; the problem is that I can no longer change it since Outlook is linked to my Microsoft account and, above all, since the interface has changed.
So, to answer the questions:
- Yes, I have already tried to change the name of my Microsoft account and it doesn’t do anything.
- Yes, I have checked my aliases and I even changed the primary alias for my Microsoft account (still doesn’t do anything)
- Yes, I have removed all devices from my account that could be linked to my Microsoft account
- I have tried waiting 48 hours (and even 1 month) for the changes to take effect
(these are the solutions that keep coming up the most on the internet)
Thank you for your help :)

Hello
change the name that appears when my email address is entered as a recipient.
To clarify, do you want to change the name on your personal machine? (Not on other people's computers who write to you?)
Is it indeed a private PC with a private MS365 account (not professional)?
Finally, are you talking about what is automatically "suggested" by Outlook when typing in the "to" field?Best regards

Hello
I have the same issue, and in my case, I'm referring to the name automatically suggested by Outlook when I type my address in "to".
Best regards.

Since the original requester is not polite enough to reply...
If you do not click on the "to" button while typing directly in the field, then it is just a cache (temporary memory) that Outlook creates as you send emails. You just need to clear the cache and it will rebuild itself.
How to delete automatically saved email addresses in Outlook 365?
Select File > Options > Mail. Under Sending messages, select Empty Auto-Complete List. Select Yes to confirm that you want to empty the list.

Hello, I'm sorry for the wait, the response emails did not arrive in my priority inbox or "other".
I don't have Outlook 365 but I can access my email through the Outlook live website on my PC. I don't have the "options" button in "files". It only gives me access to all my attachments.
However, I deleted everything I could by going to settings > more Outlook options > general > storage.
My problem remains unchanged. I'm sending you a screenshot; it will probably be clearer since I can't seem to find the right words to explain myself. I would like to change "Tamika Yuichi Tanaka" and I'm wondering if anyone other than me can see this name.
Hello, thank you for your response but it doesn't work. When I go to change the contact's name, there is a large header that cannot be modified with the name that needs to be changed. My contact details (which are modifiable) already appear to be changed. I even tried giving myself a nickname but that doesn't change anything.
Thank you for your help.
Normally, as already explained, it's in the cache, you should modify it in your contacts first, but then you need to clear the cache. The issue is, as you mentioned, it's outlook.com, so it's a free online account via a browser, there is no cache in the usual sense.
Unless maybe by completely clearing the cache of the browser itself.Thank you for your response!
I actually believe I do not have access because my 365 subscription has expired (I log in on Outlook Live or on my mobile app).
