Whatsapp online or bug?

Hello,

If someone tells you that they were not online on WhatsApp and explains that it’s probably a bug, while you’ve seen their status "online" for at least 15 minutes and several times during the week. Is it possible that this is a bug knowing that their phone goes to sleep after 2 minutes of inactivity?

    Hello,

    WhatsApp can run in the background, so it can be online without having the app open.

      Hello, your answer takes away a great anxiety from me. My friend has an old prepaid phone and connects sporadically, he says he charges it. I'm not jealous at all, but every time he turns it on and off, his WhatsApp shows "online at..." He insists he doesn't know why... Do I finally have the answer? Thank you.
