Unable to transfer photos from phone to PC

Solved

Hello,

I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9. When I connect my phone to the PC, the DCIM folder is empty even though I have over 10,000 photos that I would like to transfer.

Paid software like DroidKit detects my photos well, but I would like to avoid paying €30 to transfer photos...

A big thank you to anyone who could help me as I've been stuck on this for 4 hours.

      Excerpt from the discussion;

      For the second one, it may happen that Windows is Plug and Play when connecting the phone and automatically installing the drivers (this is particularly the case for most Samsung devices that have proprietary drivers).
      If not, you need to install the adb driver:

      Once connected, the phone appears in Windows Explorer.

      After 5 hours of struggle, it works thanks to Airdroid! Thank you very much.

    Hello,

    A radical but more cumbersome method is to remove the SD card from the phone (after turning it off) and connect it with an adapter to the card reader socket if the PC has one.

    Then look in all the folders likely to contain photos.

    Best regards,

      not all Android smartphones necessarily have an SD card...

      The photos from the SD card, just like those on the phone, did not appear on my PC, but I found the solution with the Airdroid software, it works.

      Otherwise, using Google Drive can also work, but it is extremely slow.

      Thanks again.
