Hello,

In LibreOffice Writer, is it possible to create a dropdown date menu or a date field, or more simply a button that allows you, when clicked, to open a calendar to directly choose a desired date? (not sure I’m being clear...).

I would like to be able to select the date by displaying a calendar, without having to type on the numeric keyboard... Is that possible?

Thank you for your advice.

Hello,

Raymond PENTIER :
It's really a worry when it's so simple to type on the keyboard

That's true, but so many people make typos.

This is possible on Writer by creating a date field.
Display the form controls (Menu View > Toolbar > Form Control > Design mode > Select Date Field > Draw the field. It will be surrounded by 8 red handles.
Right-click > Control Properties > General > Make your adjustments and Dropdown > Yes.
Close the window and exit design mode).

The date field will be displayed with today's date; you just need to click on the chosen date.

You can also insert a date field in a document:

You have a choice:
today's date
Insert Menu > Field > Date Field

or a fixed date:
Insert Menu > Field > Other Field > Date > Document Tab > Date > Fixed Date

Thank you both for your contributions.

Trotte-menu perfectly met my expectations:

Simple and oh so effective. 3 clicks to display the date...

Thank you !!!

Hello.

It's certainly possible, but at the cost of downloading mini-programs, in VBA for example.

It's quite a hassle when it's so simple to type on the keyboard ...
