Hello,
I would like to create a wireless network between my Linux computer (Zorin OS 16.1) and my Windows 11. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to do it. I looked on the Internet, but being a novice with Linux, I couldn’t manage to do it. I thank you in advance.

    Hi,

Are these two PCs connected to the same router?

And a network for what purpose?

    Hello,
In response to @Pierrecastor's reply, they are indeed connected to the same box. Regarding @avion-f16's answer, I will try to do it and keep you updated.

Hello, having tried the F-16 plane technique, I noticed that it was applicable to Zorin OS Lite, while I am using Zorin OS Pro (Thanks to Archive.org where it was...), so the tutorial does not apply to my case. :'-(

Otherwise, we cannot create a network under Windows and connect under Linux

    Hello,

The article I provided probably also applies to the Pro version.
It involves using the "Settings" application in Gnome.

I thought you wanted to create a connection sharing so that the Windows computer could access the Internet through the Linux one.

But if both computers are already connected to the same router, they are already on the network, so why create another one?

Actually, I want us to be able to share certain files between the two computers.

Have you created a shared folder from Windows?
In that case, you can access it from Linux using the address smb://192.168.x.x/
Replace 192.168.x.x with the local IP address of the Windows machine.

      Hi,
      on Windows?
right-click on the folder, properties and sharing, give a share name.
On Linux it's almost the same, but I don't know your distribution, on Nemo (the file manager of Mint) it's right-click sharing options.

        It is the Gnome explorer.

I shared it for Windows but it doesn't appear in Linux.

Make sure that the network settings on Windows allow for network shares.

This is also explained in the article
      https://www.commentcamarche.net/maison/reseau-wifi/997-partager-des-fichiers-sur-un-reseau-local/

Then, ensure you know the IP of the Windows PC:
      https://www.futura-sciences.com/tech/questions-reponses/informatique-trouver-adresse-ip-ordinateur-sous-windows-10-13911/

Finally, in the file explorer under Linux:
      Under Nautilus (Gnome): smb://windows-ip-address/
For others, it might be different.

I followed the tutorials, but the network does not appear either under Windows or under Linux.

Moreover, when I enter the IP address in the browser, it asks me for a password and then tells me that it cannot access it.

In which explorer? The one from Linux or Windows?
Are you sure to provide the username and password of your Windows account?
