Abnormally low FPS on ASUS TUF Gaming PC

Solved

Hello,

I am reaching out for some help or advice regarding my FPS problem on my ASUS laptop.

I only play League of Legends.
My in-game FPS is quite low, ranging between 30 (sometimes lower) and about 55.
It is still largely playable since my connection is stable, but the gaming experience is sometimes unpleasant, especially with the drops that generally occur when there is a lot of action.

I can't understand the cause of the problem; my PC is constantly ventilated by a KLIM fan, plugged in when I play, with high-performance mode activated.
My drivers are up to date. Only about 1/4 of the storage space on the OS is used.

I think it's just a matter of settings or maybe I'm missing a specific software.

My PC has no particular issues; I've had it for 2 years but have taken good care of it (I even sent it back to customer service less than a year ago due to a failure, with the motherboard refurbished).

I installed the OCCT software after reading another similar topic on a forum, but I admit I am unable to interpret the results of the test performed.

I am therefore sending you some captures of my configuration along with the test results below:

If anyone has any idea, I would be grateful. Thank you in advance!

Have a great day,

DroNaDaiR

    Hi DroNaDaiR.
I think by default your laptop is using the AMD Radeon Vega 8 instead of the Nvidia GTX1650!

Have you selected the GTX1650 as the main graphics card in the graphics settings (Nvidia or in Windows settings) to be used during games?

For Nvidia, if it's available, right-click on the desktop and then go to Nvidia Control Panel > 3D Settings > Manage 3D settings. Inside, force the use of the 1650.

Otherwise, for Win10, press Windows > Settings > System (in Display) at the bottom Graphics Settings
Then click on browse, find and add your game LoL/ Click lower on your game to display Options and check High performance.

There you go, I think after that you could boost @+200Fps ;)

      Hi H0enheim,
      Thanks for your response!

It seems it was related to what you suggested, as indeed the performance in the global Nvidia graphics settings was set to "integrated graphics"; I replaced it with the other option "high performance," as shown below:

And in the Win10 graphics settings, I also did as you indicated by adding the game and checking the high performance option.

So I played a few sessions after these changes + restarting my PC.

There is indeed a change, as my FPS have become very stable at 60.
Do you know which setting could have established this limit?

I know that in the game itself, there is an option to cap the FPS at 60, but I checked and it is not enabled...

      Thanks again,

      Have a good Sunday!

Hi, yes in the Nvidia settings (in the screen) scroll down a bit to find "frames per second

After that, you can also tweak the settings a bit,
Try the texture - quality in performance or high performance; the same goes for power management, whether it's here on NVIDIA or in Windows

Be careful, you might drain your laptop's battery faster if you play without plugging it in ;)

According to what I have also seen regarding your PC screen, it has a 120Hz !?
Check in the Nvidia settings as well if Vertical Synchronization is Disabled

There you go, well I think that with all this your issue is resolved ;)
