Samsung 40" Targeted Flickering TV Issue

Hello everyone,

I noticed a flickering problem this weekend on my Samsung TV. Since it was connected to my laptop via HDMI, I unplugged the cable just to display the menu using the remote, and there all the titles flickered: Contrast, Sharpness, Color, Brightness... When I entered each menu, it was the same. What surprised me is that the message the TV displays when I unplug the HDMI cable does not flicker at all. And during movie watching, a foreground face won't show significant flickering; however, in a scene with multiple characters, the facial features appear less sharp due to the flickering.
I have set my TV to "Dynamic" mode. When I choose "Cinema" mode, the problem becomes less bothersome (besides the fact that the color rendering isn't to my liking), but the flickering is still present when displaying the menu. I used the Auto-test function and the flickering is present there too. Could you please enlighten me?

      Thank you bazfile. I presume the best thing to do in the face of this type of problem is to see a repairman? I did some research and it turns out that high contrast and brightness are bad for the lifespan of TVs. So there's no choice, from now on I will stick to "Film" mode even if I like it less than Dynamic mode, which is the only one where I could get a display similar to that of my laptop (especially the quality of the white color).
      What bothers me is that TVs die too quickly with me (the previous one, bought new, lasted less than 3 years) and I wonder if I'm making a mistake. A few years ago, I read that for some TVs, you have to wait at least 15 minutes before unplugging them, so I suspected my tendency to turn off and unplug the TV after every movie, even though less than an hour later I would watch another one. However, in doing my research, I was surprised to read that it is actually recommended to turn off and unplug the TV. So now I'm confused. Do you know anything about this?

        TVs apparently are not made to last. For example, I have a Samsung and I've changed the power supply three times (about €30 on https://www.buyqual.com/). I imagine that many people with this kind of problem end up changing their TV when it's really not that hard to fix. As for best practices, I don't think there's a miracle method.
