Hello,

We have an HP Compaq 6710b laptop that we no longer need since we bought a new one with Windows 11, and I would like to know how to format the old PC to zero so I can give/sell it.

If possible, please send me your answers to this question!

Here is an image of the PC attached:

If I can't format my old PC, can I at least delete my unique user account? :-/

      Hello

HP has performed a factory reset specifically for the sale of the PC, there will be no files left regarding the current user whether they are alone or there are 10 of them.

After the factory reset, there will be a brand new user account that has never been used before.

HP has stated it clearly here:

      Hello
you cannot format the system drive "C" from Windows, it's a security measure from Windows
plus you shouldn't format it because it deletes everything, the drive will be blank
it needs to be restored to factory settings

        Hello,

As mentioned a few days ago, the easiest way to restore an HP PC to factory settings if the recovery partition has not been deleted is to restart and press F11.
