My TV is a Philips 7373 series... thanks again... I connected the converter to the TV (HDMI cable) and to the home theater (scart cable). Sound with DVD, but no picture and no sound on the home theater with just the TV turned on...

This SCART to HDMI converter was supposed to solve the issue of sending images (and sound) from the Panasonic to the television
although sound in that direction is already managed by the home cinema.
However, it cannot transmit sound from the television to the home cinema.

then we need an audio cable (3.5mm jack/RCA) between the headphone output of the television and the audio input of the home cinema.

Your television has a YUV component input (3.5mm video jack)

Yes, absolutely I have sound on the TV... tried with Beyerdynamic DT 240 Pro then low-end Sony...
Connections plugged into the back of the Panasonic... (audio output)...

Absolutely no sound at all... on the Pana I don't have any other sockets... well... I might look into getting a next-generation home cinema... the headphone jack might be defective... for now, I'll put it on hold... sorry for the inconvenience... and thanks again...
