Hello,  I'm trying to set up a server on Ubuntu Server 20.04, and during startup there's a process "a start job is running for wait to be configured" that always ends with [FAILED] after about 2.30/3 minutes. I can't understand this problem; I don't get this error message when I boot the PC while it's connected via Ethernet.  So, I've concluded that the issue is with the network card.  I currently have a Broadcom BCM4313 802.11bgn network card [14e4:4727] (rev 01), and I've already tried installing drivers for this network card, but I'm still getting this error message. I can't figure out how to resolve this issue.  Does anyone know how to fix this problem? It would help me a lot.     Configuration: Windows / Chrome 98.0.4758.87  -- Just remember, the most important thing is the main thing, and that's what's essential!

Okay, I managed to find the command, I did "sudo systemctl mask systemd-networkd-wait-online.service" and it seems to have solved the problem, thank you anyway for your help ????  -- especially don’t forget, the most important thing is the main thing, and that's what matters!

I made a mistake with the process; it's "A start job is running for wait for network to be configured"  -- above all, don't forget, the most important thing is the main point, and that's the essence!

Hello, The message is clear: it is trying to configure your internet connection and since the cable is not connected, it is waiting for you to connect it... 3 minutes is the set limit for this task. After 3 minutes, it continues the system startup.

Hello, thank you for your response,  But despite this message, I still have access to the internet; for example, I can ping google.com. Also, when I run a "networkctl," my network card is in "configuring" even though it has already been assigned an IP address (dhcp4), so I can't figure out where the problem is coming from. Furthermore, on the internet, the solution for many people is to "disable the process" or "ignore the problem," but that's not what I'm looking for.  Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this? I might have missed something or something like that? -- Above all, don't forget, the most important thing is the main one, and that's the essence!

First: I don't get this error message when I start the PC and it's connected via Ethernet. I deduce that the message only appears when the cable is not connected.  Next: But despite this message, I still have Internet access; for example, I can ping google.com. Either you have an active Wi-Fi connection, which would explain why Internet access is possible, or there is an inconsistency.

hum, maybe it wasn't too clear (and I apologize for that).  So basically, I'm turning an old laptop into a server (and I have a Wi-Fi card [a Broadcom BCM4313 802.11bgn [14e4:4727]), I connected my PC to Wi-Fi (during the installation of Ubuntu Server 20.04) but I did all my configuration while plugged into Ethernet (to speed things up), however when I boot the PC without being connected to Ethernet (thus connected to the internet via Wi-Fi) I get the error message that appears, even though I am still connected to the internet. And that’s why I don’t understand this error message.  -- don’t forget, the most important thing is the main thing, and that’s what matters!

Good evening,  Unfortunately, it is impossible for me to keep this last one constantly connected; I am on Ubuntu Server 20.04 without a GUI. Do you know how to disable the Ethernet connection?  -- Above all, do not forget, the most important thing is the main thing, and that is what is essential!
