Hello,
I need help please, I switched my HP ProBook from UEFI mode to legacy mode, and now at startup it shows a black screen with system diagnostics. I'm unable to exit this diagnostics screen; no matter what key I press, it takes me back to the diagnostics. It prevents me from accessing the BIOS, and I don't know what to do anymore...

Why did you change the UEFI mode to Legacy mode?

Misnaming things adds to the misery of the world (Albert Camus)-
Hello Sir, I wanted to boot my PC from my bootable USB drive, but it didn't show my USB even after changing the priority order and disabling secure boot. My boot is in UEFI, so I formatted my USB to GPT but still no detection. Then I made the wrong decision to switch to legacy mode and boot my USB in MBR, but now I'm stuck on the error message I mentioned above.
After that, it always brings me back to the diagnostics, so there's no way to access the BIOS.

However, you had already created the key in GPTMy PC is in UEFI, so I booted in GPT, but my key does not appear; I changed the key, but alas
As mentioned earlier, check if the HDD is detected in the BIOS because it looks like a dead HDD

Hello,
When the diagnostic screen appears
Press and hold the power button for several seconds until the PC turns off, wait a moment and turn it back on, access to the BIOS should again be possible with the appropriate key

Thank you, Mr., for your intervention, and well, I did it but I still land on this damn diagnostic no matter which key I press, F1, F2, F3....
There's also another detail that I forgot to mention and I apologize, before the diagnostic I first get the message
"boot device not found, please install an operating system on your hard disk,
Hard disk - (3F0).."
Then no matter which key I press next, it takes me back to this diagnostic.

Hello,
Remove the hard drive and restart the PC, you will definitely get to the BIOS

Thank you for your intervention, I solved the diagnostic problem by simultaneously holding down the CTRL + ALT + DEL + F1 keys and I now have access to the BIOS, but I’ve returned to the starting point of the invisibility of my bootable USB drive.
My PC is in UEFI mode so I booted in GPT but my USB drive does not appear, I changed the USB drive but unfortunately...

How did you create it? With RUFUS? Have you tried another drive or a different USB port?

What did you want to do with the key?

Do you mean that you can no longer boot into Windows?
Are you still able to access the advanced options (blue screen)?

Let's start over.
If you don't plug in the key, what do you end up with?

It's not what I'm asking. What's happening on the screen? What are you arriving at?

Is the HDD present and/or recognized in the BIOS?
Have you tried removing the battery and cord, pressing the power button for 1 minute, and then reinserting the cord and battery to attempt a restart?
What happens if you tap F2 during the PC startup?

The key must not be in GPT.

Thank you all for your help and attention. I finally resolved the issue by rebooting my USB key this time in GPT and it worked. I launched the installation of Windows normally and everything was going well until I hit a snag on the disk selection for installing the system. It wouldn't detect my hard drive and displayed the error message
"We couldn't find any drives. To get a storage driver, click on Load Driver"
In the end, I'm going through trials and tribulations with this installation, but I remain hopeful. -
No, it's not a virus; however, if it goes undetected and the PC is still under warranty, it's better to send it back to customer service.

Take apart the HDD, put it in a 2.5 inch external case and test it with "crystaldiskinfo" on another PC!

Hypothesis:
You switched your BIOS to UEFI, so it was in legacy before...
Legacy = system disk (W10) in MBR
UEFI = system disk in GPT, mandatory!
And in some BIOS, the system disk becomes invisible when it is in MBR and the BIOS is in UEFI...
So switch your BIOS back to legacy, run the HP factory restore tool, that way you will recover your PC to its original state.
