Yahoo: missing sent emails

Question

Hello,I just realized that all my emails in the "sent" folder have disappeared until January 3rd. I've searched everywhere, they are nowhere to be found. I submitted the form to Yahoo to restore them but I don't think they have acknowledged it. If someone can help me because I had some very important records that I will need very soon. Everything has disappeared from my "Sent" folder as well. Everything!
Except for my last 4 emails.
Server bug?
I'm sure I didn't make any mistakes (deleting thousands of emails by accident isn't easy :-).
Is anyone else experiencing this?
It's really annoying.

Hello to you who have had the same problem as me,
I contacted the CNIL who gave me their Yahoo contact.
I exchanged emails with a certain Patrick at the following address: ***@*** (that's Yahoo support)
Unfortunately, I didn't learn any more.
I encourage you to contact him to explain your problem.
Maybe if there are several of us, they’ll reconsider and dig a little deeper, rather than offering restorations that don't work.
I'm still very upset about my disappeared sent histories ????

No, I didn't succeed. A friend who works in mobile telecommunications told me that it could be my phone operator who deleted them when I opened my email on my mobile phone. I need to find out if that's possible.
Usually, I open my email on my iPad and not on my phone, and on January 3rd, I had no choice. I had to do it via my phone. Since that date, my sent emails have disappeared.

Hello, I just saw your email, I have the same issue, it's a hassle. I have the impression that it only keeps a history of one month (or even less), it's unacceptable.

I contacted my mobile operator LAPOSTEMOBILE who cannot transfer me to the technical service regarding my request… so no one can help me there either, even though the problem occurred after connecting my Yahoo account on my mobile phone.????

I had the same thing happen to me. Last week I realized that all my emails prior to March 9th had disappeared, both in the inbox, the trash, the unread ones, and the personal folders. Several years of archiving and a Yahoo restoration service that is missing in action once they acknowledge receipt of our request...

It's a bit much on their part, even outrageous!

It's impossible to find someone competent to discuss this matter. My emails to dpo-contact... have gone unanswered, and my exchanges with Yahoo France's Twitter page consist of a series of replies telling me I can request email recovery within 7 days. To say that this deadline has long since passed is an understatement, especially since it took them 10 days to respond to me...

I lost everything again on April 22nd!!!! What the hell is going on with Yahoo?
I think we need to report them to the CNIL; I suspect this is to free up space on the servers and thus make money from server storage....... This is completely unacceptable!

Hello,
During the second disappearance of my emails, I requested recovery within the imposed timeframe and they came back. So for now I'm regularly checking that everything is present.
I have never managed to get a real response to the problem we are all unfortunately facing...

Hello, I also have the same issue, all my emails sent before 2011 have disappeared! Likewise, all the emails received after August 2021 have disappeared. Could you help me, it’s very annoying!

I'm experiencing the same problem as you. Thousands of messages disappeared in one day! I noticed it particularly in my sent messages box since between mid-May 2022 and 2012, they have all disappeared.
Then I realized that my very important received messages that I pinned with a flag, most of them have also disappeared. Unfortunately, I think the 7 days had just passed when I noticed it... I did try the Yahoo recovery form. Thanks to Christine for the email, I also tried this method and I'm sincerely hoping they can resolve the issue because it's a monumental disaster... and yet I had no problems with Yahoo for 20 years, what's happening?? I'll let you know if I get a response..

Hello Marie and everyone, I contacted the CNIL again last week but they keep referring me back to Yahoo. I feel like I'm going in circles. In the meantime, new messages regarding the same issue with Yahoo keep coming in response to my first message. I’m feeling a bit lost and pessimistic about retrieving our histories. If anyone has any ideas to move things forward, I’m all ears.
