Issue viewing certain cameras on 4G

Hello,

I bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro 16.9 cm (6.67") Dual SIM Android 11 4G. Since purchasing it, I can no longer view my cameras on 4G, only on Wi-Fi? After several searches, I conducted tests on my end. What is incomprehensible to me is that I have several cameras, some work with the MIPC app and others with CTRONICS. I specify that all are connected via Wi-Fi. The cameras that are on the MIPC app I can view on Wi-Fi and 4G. However, for those that work with the CTRONICS app, I can only view them on Wi-Fi, even at friends' houses. Even stranger, during my "vacation" trip, I tested connecting with my phone via Wi-Fi to my son's 4G hotspot, who has the same phone as me, and I have the same issue—no access. I tried accessing via my wife's phone, which is a SAMSUNG, and there I was able to access the cameras? To be sure, I redo the test with my son and still have no access, and with his girlfriend's phone this time, which is an older SAMSUNG, and again I can access?
I wonder if there could be a difference in 4G between the phones? Or maybe I just don't understand anything anymore LOL.
Thank you for your help; I've been searching but going in circles, looking for someone in my situation, and I'm hesitant to tweak things for fear of making it worse. For your information, I'm with ORANGE, my wife too, my son too, but his girlfriend is with a different provider, which makes me think it shouldn't be a provider issue but rather a 4G issue with my phone "I THINK".

We're all in the same boat. We, too, had bought surveillance cameras over the years, and then all those cameras eventually failed us as the years went by.
Moreover, as you said, it was annoying to watch them because some worked with one app, others with another app, so it was a hassle as you're currently experiencing yourself.
.
Since buying individual cameras didn't solve the problems, I started looking for another means of more durable and especially more reliable video surveillance over time.
.
I therefore contacted professional sellers of surveillance systems, but the prices they offered terrified me. More than €500 to €800 without installation, so in total we ended up with more than €1800-2500.
.
But with all the quotes we got, I had references for NVR-type equipment. So after some research, I found NVR systems in kits. Of course, if the purchase is made in France, the price is still high, but after a lot of digging on the Internet, I found NVR kits on Aliexpress.com for affordable prices as we bought our NVR kit with 8 Wi-Fi cameras before July 1, 2020, therefore tax-free. And as I mentioned, it came to €22 per camera, so 8x22, do the math.
.
The kit I bought is from the brand ZOSI, https://www.zositech.com/zswnvk-h820-wireless-nvr-security-system/ the zswnvk 8 cameras with dual RJ45 and Wi-Fi connectivity. Note: There are kits with 4, 8, 16, or 32 cameras. There are other brands, but we bought Zosi; the principle is the same. Do like me, visit surveillance equipment sellers and get quotes, that way you'll gather a lot of information about the equipment and explanations.
.
I'm quite handy, so I installed it myself; it's not very complicated, but you need a bit of knowledge.
.
We're happy with it; it works well, especially since with an NVR box, you can install a hard drive and record the cameras you want. You need at least a 4 TB HDD. The kit I got was provided without an HDD. So that's an option, to take or leave. It's like the cameras; you're not required to buy 8 right from the start; the main thing was to get the NVR box that accepts 8 cameras or 16, 32, etc. You can find the cameras individually, but altogether it's more expensive if you buy separately; it's better to take a kit with 8 cameras or even 16 if your property and house are large.
You need to search all over the Internet to find the good deals, especially on Aliexpress, which is the cheapest and has regular promotions throughout the year, so you need to keep an eye on this site often to get the best prices.

Provide details. I installed the application on my wife's phone, a SAMSUNG, and it works well on both Wi-Fi and 4G.

Hi,
Thank you for your feedback and advice
I bought the cameras little by little. 4 outdoor cameras and 3 others inside the house, as mentioned earlier, 4 CTRONICS EXT cameras that work with the CTRONICS software and 3 YATWIN indoor cameras purchased in 2019 that work with MIPC. Indeed, if I can install all this on an NVR box that supports the cameras, I will do it, but I am not an expert. I might as well buy new cameras to replace the indoor ones because I didn't pay much for them ^^ low price and they don't work anymore, purchased in September 2019".
I am listening to you to find a solution that might be simpler for me, but I am not an expert in this field.

Thank you for all this information, I will look it up online and go through it. On my end, I'm thinking of doing it myself as well for cost reasons lol.

Good luck and don't rush into making this purchase, take the time to think it over.
Regarding cost, we are all pretty much in the same boat, especially considering the quotes made regarding our purchase and my installation, there is definitely a lot to gain.
For the installation, the essential knowledge you need is knowing how to use a drill, but first, you need to locate the spot where the cameras will be installed. Since the kit is Wi-Fi, you just have to simulate the camera installation and with the app on a tablet (or smartphone), you can view the shooting angle.
Be careful, I remind you that it is forbidden to film in public spaces and at your neighbors' places, so you need to fine-tune the installation and the shooting angles.
You should also think about hiding the NVR in a locked room, because if you install a HDD that records the images, burglars will want to retrieve the NVR unit to destroy it, I think you understand the reasoning behind this.

Hello
If you had installed an NVR surveillance system with 8 cameras, you would only need one app to view all the cameras and a single video stream since the NVR distributes it by compressing it in H264 or H265.
And regarding the price, I think the NVR would be cheaper; for us, it cost 22 € per camera for the entire NVR unit + 8 cameras.
And you, how many cameras do you have and especially what is the total price?
