Hello,
I intended to get IPTV in my son's room. I tried using a friend's box and it doesn't work because it's connected to a powerline adapter (CPL). When I try it in another room, directly connected to the modem, everything works perfectly. Is there really no way to get it working with a connection through the powerline adapter? Thank you
Configuration: iPhone / Safari 14.1.2

Hello,
"with a friend's adapter" the powerline connection works with two adapters, one plugged into the modem/router and an electrical outlet, the second to the device you wish to connect.
To check if the powerline connection works, it would be best, with both adapters, to test it with a computer to verify that the Ethernet network is functioning.

Hello,
to summarize:
we already have an Ethernet connection via powerline adapters that works with other devices, which ones?
we want to add a TV box that works well directly on the router.
How is it connected?
in place of the previous device, or on a second Ethernet port of the powerline adapter, or on an external switch, or via Wi-Fi?
The basis is that there’s no reason why the TV box shouldn’t work this way, many people use powerline adapters for that, if that's the question.
Behind that, either you’re doing something wrong, a cable is defective, or the powerline connection is too poor in terms of speed, or another sneaky issue, like the TV box emitting interference and polluting the powerline connection, which is often quite sensitive in that regard.
To find out about this last point, you should connect another device to the powerline and simultaneously connect the TV box to see if the other one still works.
Also,
if you add a power strip, do not connect the powerline adapter to the power strip.

and ... There you go!

If I rephrase: In an environment with 2 powerline adapters, which works with other equipment, the installation of an IPTV box does not work, it has no network.
Okay?
A powerline network, schematically, simply replaces an Ethernet cable. Depending on the electrical installation, it may work poorly, slowly, or not at all. But if it works with another device, it should provide the same Ethernet network to the IPTV box. I have no idea. I hope other participants will have some.
