Hello,
I just had fiber installed at my place.
I connected my Livebox 5 to my Legrand communication cabinet with the only modification being the removal of the ADSL filter.
As a result, my network goes directly through the Legrand Triple Play Switch to distribute it throughout the house.
Once connected, I noticed that I had issues with the Orange TV (frozen image, metallic sound, etc.).
So, I connected my TV line directly to the box, and that works, but I can't connect the whole house back to the box.
Can you tell me if this situation is normal? The Legrand Triple Play Switch is supposed to be compatible with both ADSL and Fiber. What do you think?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Hi,
generally speaking, automatic patch panels cause more problems than they simplify work.
At Legrand, there are several models, one 10/100 and one gigabit. The 10/100 acts as a pair splitter and allows phone, analog TV, and internet to pass through the same cable, but at a maximum of 100 Mbit/s.
After that,
it's certainly compatible with ADSL and fiber, since it happens on the other side of the box, not in the patching.
The automatic patching (I don't really dare to call it a switch) might also be broken; it's a gadget that is likely to introduce more faults, especially since it's not guaranteed that the Ethernet auto-negotiation works well with these marginal devices.
For now, you can connect a PC in place of your TV to check the speed it connects to the box through the automatic patching.
If the automatic patching is problematic, unless it can be replaced under warranty, I advise you to invest in a gigabit switch with 8 or 16 ports, possibly manageable, instead; it won’t support triple play, but you can handle that manually, and it will be much more reliable than this system.
