Failed to send photos

Hello,
I'm trying to send a photo from WhatsApp. The photo is in my Camera folder. WhatsApp tells me "Sorry, this media file does not exist on your internal storage."
When I try to take a new photo by opening the camera from WhatsApp, it says "Camera failed."
I checked the permissions and the storage; I don't understand where the problem comes from.
Out of 2 photos sent earlier, there is only one "viewable" in the message history.
I restarted my phone and checked the Play Store for any pending updates.
