Hello dear community!
I am a 16-year-old artist who is struggling.
Here’s the plot:
I must go to high school to earn the sesame a.k.a the BAC because my parents tell me I need to have it if I want to be recognized.
The problem is my trauma and my mental illness (GAD) related to school which makes me almost unfit to study.
My parents pose the dilemma of choosing between going to high school and passing my studies to be seen among the best of the best
or
Starting to work, taking courses, and reducing my hopes of becoming a comic book author to nothing.
So my choice is quickly made. I WANT to publish. I WANT to be a comic book author.
Here are my questions:
1. Can you publish a comic book as a minor?
2. Can you publish despite not having the BAC? And is it really essential to have it?
3. Can you live off two jobs?
I already know what I want to publish.
The script, the map, the characters, everything is almost ready.
I eagerly await your answers ^^

Hello
Comics don't pay (at least not in the beginning), so you'll need a side job to get by... And without a diploma, even for a side job, even for a job that’s just there to pay the bills, rent, etc., it’s complicated to find one that doesn't exploit you... (and if you’re working non-stop, when do you draw?).
Talk to your parents to take you to comic conventions, ask questions, show your drawings to the authors, ask them how they work, etc... all of this helps to understand the reality... you can also participate in different writing forums or even workshops near you, it’s not just for training, it’s also to meet other passionate people

Hello,
I am a 16-year-old artist who is struggling. It's almost a pleonasm, and struggling is the fate of many artists, except for the minority who know my notoriety.
1. Can a minor publish a comic book? With permission and under the legal authority of their parents, yes, knowing that the work of minors is regulated in France.
https://travail-emploi.gouv.fr/droit-du-travail/temps-de-travail/article/le-temps-de-travail-des-jeunes-de-moins-de-18-ans
2. Can one publish without having a high school diploma? And is it really essential to have one? It's irrelevant since no diploma is required to be a writer, musician, or painter.
3. Can one live with two jobs?
It depends on the jobs considered and must be evaluated in relation to the expected standard of living and one’s physical and mental capabilities. Furthermore, it's difficult to answer a question like that since one can live with just one job, let alone two.
There are surely more appropriate answers in the links provided here:
