Hello,

I recently had an issue with Rakuten regarding my date of birth. Since I was a minor, I made a sale without thinking that I would need an ID to withdraw the money from my wallet. That said, please note that even if you are a minor, if you are between 16 and 18 years old, it is possible to sell on the platform. I searched the web and quickly realized that no one was offering a solution to this problem, so I’m going to propose one in hopes that it will help you. I had to explain the situation to Rakuten’s customer service at the following email address: fr-cil (at) mail.rakuten.com
(starting to mask the email address otherwise sorry)

And they replied to me the next day saying

----------------------------------------------------

Hello XXXXXX XXXXX,

The date of birth you registered in your Wallet when you created it is not the same as the one you are indicating to us today.

In order to modify this date and for security reasons, I kindly ask you to send us the following documents:

- a photocopy of an ID showing your date of birth,
- a proof of residence in your name (telephone bill, electricity bill...).

Please send these documents to the following address: ***@***

To facilitate the processing of your file, please also kindly indicate "XXXX-XXXXXX" in the subject of your email.

Upon receipt of these documents, we will contact you as soon as possible to confirm the modification of the date of birth associated with your Wallet.

---------------------------------------------

I hope I have helped some of you ^^
Have a good day and take care of yourselves and your family ;)

And did they change your date of birth? Did you send them all the requested documents or just a photo of your ID card?

Hello
At the same time, we are only born once! (unless you cheat) so there is no way to change your date of birth, it makes sense.
By providing proof of your TRUE date of birth, they will indeed make the change, but this forces you to "confess" in a way, it's the lesser evil you are lucky.
