Printing issue on one side of the paper

Hello, I have an HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28-M31 printer, and today, while changing the ink cartridge, I tried to print a PDF document but the document is cut off. Only one side of it is printed (the left side). I haven't changed the print settings and I checked if I properly installed the ink cartridge.

    Hello,

    I believe you did not follow the instructions regarding the cartridge change... so you remove it from the printer...

    You take the cartridge with your right hand and your left hand... Shake it horizontally from left to right and back again. This is called "shaking" before putting it in place...

    You put it back in the printer and do a test print...

    There you go.

      Hello, thank you for your response. I had indeed used the ink cartridge by shaking it. Eventually, the problem was with the cartridge because when I put in another one, there was no more issue.

    These cartridges are generally stored upright, vertically... The toner powder falls to the bottom and clumps over time...
    Whereas in printers, this cartridge is in a horizontal position... The powder having clumped into a semi-cylinder does not cover the entire surface of the drum and only prints on one side of the page, waiting for a more even distribution...

    That's why it needs to be shaken well before being put in place...

    Depending on the duration of storage and local humidity, the compaction of the powder can be more or less resilient in its consistency... It needs to be shaken harder...

    It is true that by changing to another cartridge, the odds may be different... especially if the seller has well understood the discomfort of their customer... They will shake it before handing it over... QED.
