Hello,

Recently, the text entered in the Google search window jumps to the address bar. How can we prevent this?

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 89.0

Hello,

==► Restore the New Tab Search Box

When you open a new tab, when you type a word in the search bar, the focus is immediately redirected to the address bar.
Clear everything in the address bar and type or copy/paste ==► about:config
Click on ==►Accept the Risk and Continue
In the search box for a preference name, type or copy/paste ==► awesomebar
Double-click on the line -► browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar
Change the value to ==►false

Now the search appears correctly in the search box and not in the address bar.

See you later

It's resolved. It's true that, functionally, it still works, but ergonomically, I find it counterintuitive and very unpleasant.

Thank you for the tip, Pistouri, and it’s true that it’s very annoying and against a tweet.

I'll look for it, but it's not that annoying; it will yield the same search as if you were looking in the search bar.
