You mention that the wall socket (defective) powers other devices...
Have you tested the freeplug by itself on the wall socket? Just the freeplug...
This socket carries current, no problem, but the freeplug or any other powerline adapter uses the current to transmit data (internet) and the quality of the current is very important in this case (interference, oxidation, quality of cables) the current passes but not the data...
So if the freeplug "by itself" works (green light), then it's the "other" devices on the socket that have an issue...
Moreover, it is not recommended to plug the freeplug into a power strip with other devices... It's not easy when there are few outlets in the house.

Yes, I tried the freeplug by itself on the "dedicated" socket; and that's precisely where it stays red, while it turns green on the other sockets on the floor. Bad luck ;))
So the power is there, but not the data. Understood. Can an electrician fix this or can I do something about it myself?
I should mention that it’s a house and that all the sockets in the house were installed at the same time. The freeplug for this mini 4K worked (green) for years. Just last night, the screen was showing a search for WiFi.
I don't know what else to say, except thank you for this information.

Thank you for this new insight. But I think and can't find. We are a not very connected household... I do have a Diagral wireless alarm, but I installed it in 2019. Mobile phones, like "everyone else."
Actually, it all started last night. Well, I will quietly take a complete tour of the house to see if a clue appears.
Otherwise, DIY: an extension cord for the freeplug and the TV on the "guilty" outlet...
I tried, it works.

I don't think the freeplug is the issue...
Have you tried swapping them? They should normally be identical...
You can also use a simple extension cord (not really recommended but still...) to plug into a socket where the freeplug works.
An electrician, if he finds the anomaly (not sure), might have to break down the wall to redo the electrical wiring, not cool!!
Anyway, there's no miracle solution...
Knowing that ideally you should do without the freeplug system (just keep them for powering the boxes) and use an RJ45 cable to connect one box to another. But it's true that having a cable in the hallway looks messy... But it's the most reliable and fastest solution...
A good shielded cat5e network cable or better is preferable to any PLC or Wi-Fi. For now...

If the extension works, that's already something.
Interchanging them might work if one of the freeplugs is "weaker" than the other, it could be a sign that it's about to "give out"?!
You should never give up, test all solutions...
