Multiplayer issues

Question

Hello, I just bought Minecraft Java for my Windows 10 because I saw my friends playing on public servers and I wanted to do the same.
I installed the game, created a Microsoft account, and when I launch the game, I can only play in solo mode.
It tells me that multiplayer mode is disabled and that I need to check my Microsoft account.
I searched everywhere and I can't find anything!
Please help me!

Hello,
Thank you for your response.
I looked at the article but my problem persists.
In the article, it says to connect to multiplayer mode and then enter the IP address of the server but my problem is that I simply cannot access the multiplayer mode of the game; the box is grayed out and I cannot click on it.
A message says that I need to adjust a setting in my Microsoft account that I cannot find.
