Optical cable for soundbar from a jack cable

Good evening
Indeed, in my TV to get sound out I only have a Jack port (no RCA output, no HDMI ARC, and no Bluetooth), so I want to connect my Samsung soundbar by linking the TV's Jack port to the optical cable port of the soundbar. Is this possible? And considering I already have an optical fiber cable, can I remove one of its ends and replace it with a Jack end?

P.S.: Before I bought the optical cable, I already tried connecting the TV’s Jack port to the HDMI port of the soundbar (using a Jack to HDMI adapter) and that didn't work.
Thank you in advance :) (and sorry for this multitude of details)

    Hello
If the television has a headset output (3.5mm jack) and the soundbar has an optical input, you will need an analog to digital converter
    Example:

To be sure, please provide the references (Brand and model) of the television and the soundbar.

    Hi,

You understand that optical is light passing through, a digital signal, 1s and 0s (it either works or it doesn't), while a standard jack plug is electrical current, an analog signal, higher or lower voltage passing at a higher or lower frequency.

There are optical cables with one end fitting into a 3.5 mm Jack port, but it will only work if the jack plug is also Optical / TOSlink at the same time.

So maybe your TV has this feature?

You can check in the manual.

Note: If you can see red light coming out of your jack socket, it's usually a TOSlink.

Hello and thank you for your detailed response. I would like to ask you: for the HDMI cable, that is to say, if I want to connect the audio jack port of the TV to the HDMI port of the soundbar. Will it work without an analog-to-digital converter? Or does the HDMI also need to receive a digital signal?

    Negative ...
    HDMI transmit digital signals.

For the second time, please provide us with the references for the television and the soundbar.
