My Philips DVD player turns on and off by itself.

Hello,
My DVD player turns on and off by itself, doing this repeatedly. I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, but it still continues to turn on and off.

Does anyone have a solution other than dismantling the player and putting it back together?

Configuration: Android / Chrome 90.0.4430.82

Hello,
It could be a problem with the power circuit overload, not sure, but it's worth trying this:
Unplug it and create a short circuit between the two prongs of the socket with a wire, paperclip, etc...

Of course do not plug it back in
Wait an hour, remove the wire or paperclip and plug it back in

Thank you for the advice and this touch of humor about not replugging (haha) I just had a vision of myself being projected due to a shock.

Your solution doesn't work.

I think I'm going to explode this device because it's so annoying me.

I have the same problem with my Philips Blu-ray DVD player.
To force it to start, I press and hold the power button on the front. You then hear a launch sound inside, and you can release the button. After a few seconds, you can open the tray and insert the DVD.

Actually, in the menu, I did a factory reset and now it's perfect!
