Hello,
I have a problem with my HP Envy 5544 printer.
It is indicating that the door is open (the one for the cartridges), but it is closed.
I unplugged the printer, waited more than two hours, plugged it back in, but the problem persists.
I tried slamming the door, same result.
It was working fine until now, and suddenly it's doing this.
Knowing that it is no longer under warranty, what do you advise me to do? Check it?
Should I take it to a repairman?
Throw it away? But I would prefer not to do that; apart from this issue, it works perfectly.
Thank you for your advice/responses.
Configuration: Windows / Firefox 87.0

Hello,
aside from this problem, it works perfectly. does that mean that you can still print and use it normally?
This problem is likely related to a poor connection on the cartridge door sensor. If it doesn't block printing, I wouldn't worry about it. The repair might end up costing more than the printer itself.
Otherwise, it is always possible to locate the faulty contact and clean it with an anti-oxidation spray for electronic components.

Sorry, it was working perfectly.
In fact, when I start it up, sometimes it doesn't show me the message right away; I have time to navigate through the menu, and the cartridges are new and well recognized by the printer.
If the cost of the repair exceeds the price of the printer, I will replace it, but it is better to repair it considering it was printing correctly before this.

I can't see at all where the contact for the shutter is...

I don't know your printer, but if there's an error message indicating that the cover is not closed, it means there is a sensor.

Hello,
So I've managed to print some documents, but the problem is still there.
At some point, I keep getting this open lid error, even though it isn't x)
Sometimes it happens right at startup, and other times after two or three prints.
What do you think could be the cause?
Is there a disassembly guide or not?
Thanks in advance
