Hello, I've been working with Open Office, and for the past few days, it keeps shutting down with an error message. How can I fix this?
Thank you for your help
Best regards

Hello
I don't use OpenOffice, so I can't help you...
however, if you want to get a response, you should at least provide the error message in question...
I think that will greatly assist those who would try to help you.
Best regards,

Hello,
Without mentioning which error message it is, we will feel our way around.
If this error message relates to retrieving the document, it may be a .~lock file.
The .~lock files (.~lock.FILE_name.odt# or for calc .~lock.FILE_name.ods#) are hidden files created as soon as a document is opened and are designed for network file reading.
In principle, these files close with the document, but in the event of a power cut, corruption, etc., these .~lock files persist.
You just need to delete them.
The .~lock.FILE_name.odt# file is located at the same level (in the same folder...) as the file that created it.
Sometimes a .~lock file is also created in the Profile that should also be deleted. (It is deleted de facto during a profile purge).
So, if deleting the .~lock file is not enough or if there is no .~lock file,
Purge the profile using the dedicated tool: https://forum.openoffice.org/fr/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=56162
or perform the manual purge: https://forum.openoffice.org/fr/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=31768
