Hello,I have an HP dv6 1225 sf laptop.When I start my computer, it displays the following message with the HP logo:"To access the startup menu, press the Escape key."When I press Escape, nothing happens.Can someone please help me?Configuration: Windows / Firefox 85.0

It seems that the system disk on which Windows 7 (which is outdated) is located is no longer accessible. If your PC is stuck on the HP logo without proceeding further, I would say it is out of service. The PC is old (released in 2009).

Hello.

And what does the BIOS say? . . . Remove all USB devices or external hard drives. Start up and as soon as the manufacturer's logo appears, tap F12 (generally) and check that the hard drive where Windows is installed is indeed first (boot priority).

even pressing the delete key or f2 does nothing usb, external hard drive removed, as for f12 I just tried it, doesn't work either screen with logo and message remains frozen

Unless you really can't access the BIOS anymore, there will be a big problem with the BIOS chip on the motherboard. If you have NEVER changed the battery (generally a CR 2032), you should look into that because this PC was released before January 2009!

As you say
if it's a CMOS battery issue
it should display a message
"CHECKSUM error"
but in my case, that's not the issue

I forgot to add one thing: the computer screen stays black, so I connected it to an external monitor and pressed the F4 key to work with the external monitor.
